You are so very talented, and your shades highlight the curvature and texture of you animals. I was a taxidermist and have always loved the gift God has given us in nature. You bring its beauty to life! I enjoy doing under water paintings of salmon runs, trout, which are very challenging for me. It would be amazing for you to do an under water creation maybe with a brown bear attempting to snatch a salmon from its hideaway, with its paw and claws visible. Thank you for creating so much enjoyment for nature lovers!!

Well I sincerely appreciate those kind words! It definitely encourages me to do more. I too was a taxidermist for many years, it definitely served me well as I developed as a painter. Thanks Dean!

Stunning thank you I’ve got a WIP of a winter scene & decided to add a white tail buck. I’ve done a few that are excellent. But I still keep learning there no such thing as to much knowledge.

I’m just in awe of your talent! You have come such a long way from your pencil sketches in elementary school! For me it is the Owl that makes me stop and stare right back. Next would be a grizzly. Had the chance to get unintentionally close to a grizzly in Kananaskis Country and it was both magnificent and scary at the same time. ~Jay

Thanks so much Jay!!🙏🏼The owls for sure and well the grizzly... that must of been intense! Both have inspired paintings from me, so I know exactly what you mean.

I I have any taxidermist and my father was a taxidermist. I never got into painting but I have a year ago. I have just gotten into fly fishing and have fished trout my whole life and we have mounted many large trout in our day I think it would make a amazing painting a fly fisherman in mid-cast on a beautiful Montana river in autumn with the absolutely stunning

Sounds like a good foundation for painting. I also used to paint fish back in the 80's while doing taxidermy. It really helped when using an airbrush in my flat art pieces. Not sure if you know but I have a couple of online painting courses available if you're interested. The links to those are in the description. Thanks Kenneth!

I'd love to see you do a Rio Grande Cutthroat...I find water to be so difficult! But the beautiful colors of this fish on a tight line with the type of fall background you show in this painting would be magical. A great video as always and thrilled to see you have a course now!

Thank you Dee! I'm in the process also of gathering footage for a few mini courses on specific areas such as water. I'm currently working on a video for KZfaq on how I create "breath" in a howling wolf. My own little secret weapon for that. Should have it on my channel next week, just waiting for the paint to dry. 😊

I know they aren't really native to Alberta, but have you ever done a muskox? They seem like the sort of big hefty creature you would be able to do.

@@DesMcCaffrey Very cool. I want to try some one day. Am currently focussed on a show for the Louisiana Whooping crane reintroduction project, (an exhibit with the State dept of Wildlife and fisheries)so am painting W.cranes like crazy, but am secretly much more drawn to big ungulates like you do. Once this show is out of the way, will work on big mammals again. I look up to you. Thank you for posting your art and life as a wildlife artist. Truly inspiring!
