Saving money can be a pain, especially if you have no idea where to start. Here I talk about how you can save money quickly despite your income. Bless her that’s so old school my family is Christian but I don’t think any of them have paid tithes for at least 4 generations. Sweet girl keep going and keep talking about these things to keep it alive.

Currently i have around £150,000 in savings but tomorrow i sign the paperwork to buy my new house. I'm doing this before we go into hyper inflation where my money wouldn't buy a loaf of bread

Last year I worked from 10am until 00:45am. Until 45 mins after midnight as they went to a music festival and they got the last bus back to the car park after 11:30pm. I was exhausted and at my full day late finish cost I earned a pittance per hour. It was soul destroying working so long and then not getting much out of it. I like working for them so I continue to take bookings from them but I hope my new pricing will be in their budget. There dog is very nervous and only likes the family and me. I'm the only person outside of the family that the dog is comfortable with.

Fun fact: If over the past 40 years, UK wages had kept pace with other major costs (rent/mortgage, energy, etc), then average salary in 2024 would be in the region of £60k - £70k.

Respect. Were you supporting family at the same time. I'm having to work a shitty call center job by day and driving deliveroo/ubereats everynight and all day weekends to support fam and saving up to by my 1st property investment. God Willing you get all the success.

There’s no point in saving if you’re paying off credit cards with high interest. So below are the steps I took. 1. Save for Emergencies. (You can get tempted to swipe that card if you don’t have the money) 2. Pay off Credit Card Debt. 3. Save money into a high yield savings account. Once you get rid of those small monthly payments, it’s easier to put money I separate accounts for other goals.

I bring home £14,000 n single. Bankrupt n have £0 savings. I live wk to wk. Pay full amount on all bills. I dont smoke, drink, go out etc. I'm lucky if I have £20 left a wk after food n fuel. My car needs repair n I have no money. No car means no job. I wish I was earning £30,000! I live in south east uk too.

Hi Michelle have you thought about ways on increasing your income? Maybe doing a side hustle? I think the income you have seems to be near the national minimum wage so I would maybe try to increase it if you can!

@@VeroniaSpaine sadly I cant as I'm on an IVA for 6 years. Got 4 more to go. If I do overtime or extra job, they take 50-60% of it. Same with my car, i cant have 1 over £1,000 or they expect me to sell it n give them the extra over the £1,000. I dont recommend IVA's now. Fine first year as council tax included. Then prices go up, wages don't n to help they push you to add another year on to it. Wish I'd gone fully bankrupt as I have no assets. In council accommodation.

I can’t live in a box room. I live in a 3 bedroom flat, got a partner, child, car and bills! Our living expense is 2000k per month. Prior to this I use to save 1800 per month working 6 nights a week, that’s t single life working and saving. Married family life is different...

Hi thanks for the tips, im currently saving for a decent car...i have never been good with money but now i get paid 450 weekly and tranfer 350 each time to my mother. Ive been so stupid with money but when i look at what i have saved now,,,im pretty impressed.it does accumilate!!. Bmw on the way by the summer!!!!

Omg I literally was just toying with the idea of paying my insurance next month for the whole year! That is such a good idea, even with monthly subscriptions. You smart girl Yass to the emergency fund plus a whole week is too long to wait for another videooo - I want more! 😭😭😭😭

What are your thoughts about buying property, especially in London? Does it aid the FI journey or hinder it?

It would depend on what you want to buy the property for e.g. is it your own residential house or to rent it out? Also I would be looking at the numbers after you purchase e.g. would you still be able to save and invest as much as you would like to reach your goals?

I am very money sensible but on a very low income, way lower than your average UK suggested income. I would never be able to save £1000 a month.

I was renting before but living as a lodger , then lived with family - both situations would’ve allowed me to save £1000 but it’s because I lowered my housing costs way down that really helped!

Do you put it in a lifetime ISA or help to buy because some saving accounts are capped at a certain amount you can save in a year

Hi Malia, I don’t use a lifetime or Help to buy ISA as you can’t use that to save for a buy to let, the savings account I use is an easy access so it means it isn’t necessarily capped (although the interest rate isn’t very high unfortunately!)

I think you can, you just have to live in the property for 6 months, it will depend on the mortgage. My stepsister boyfriend has done it.

@@katyward1895 Hi Katie, did they buy the house under a residential house first and then transfer it? From what I know you can’t use it with a buy to let at the start so the Consent to Let mortgage might be what they are using?

At the moment I use Monzo, I also use it for my spending they have a separate savings account and I think it takes about 1 day for me to pull the money out!
