Great video. I don't know why I stopped sourcing CD's, but you just reminded me I need to be looking! I always slack when it comes to CD's, ties, and books. Between the 3 it's easily another 10K in a year.

Exactly. I get people on here telling me that its only a couple extra thousand and its not impressive, but a couple extra thousand in 5 different categories adds up quick.

This video made me sign up for amazon to sell CDs... and I can't sell CDs on amazon since it says I'm restricted. How do you sign up as a new seller and sell CDs right away? Do they even let new people sell CDs now (In the USA)? Same with audio cassettes and almost anything I scanned with the app. Can you make a video on how to not be restricted?

This really is a good way to make money. I used to do this before I started my private label amazon FBA business. A thrift store near me used to do 8 for $1 CD's, 5 for $1 DVD's and 3 for $1 video games. Easy money and all you have to do is put in the work.

Old video, I know. However, I am wondering if you ever come across international versions of CD's. I am looking for one in particular. Paula Abdul - Head Over Heals This is the international version. It has added songs and a different track listing than the American version. I think it is a Japan exclusive. Now, I obviously want one in really good shape. Even if it is used. Another I am looking for is a limited edition version of Paula Abdul - Spellbound. This is the exclusive that came in a box and instead of a regular CD case, it was in the shape of a makeup compact. So the booklet was in the shape of the compact and it had a powder puff inside. These are the last two I need to finish off my collection for her. So, if you see this comment and can help at all, I do appreciate it.

I tried your technique & after three hours of scanning I ended up with 38 that I purchased my thrift store let's me have them for $0.50 each. I spent $18 & I should average $12 average profit per CD. I do the same technique with my books it's just putting the time to make a profit.
@fpgaruda9966
@fpgaruda9966 3 ай бұрын
Good luck with averaging $12 a disc. I sold off some of my cd collection on eBay years ago and yeah, you can make a profit. You just should also consider the $1.50 per cd on packaging materials (if you don’t want them to crack) then there’s shipping, yes you can include that in the total price but you are going to get the customer that says, hey, I paid $3 for shipping but you only had to pay 2.18. You want to keep the customer happy so you send a refund. eBay then takes their share. And gotta consider the time it takes to post listings, packing, driving to post office… anyway, I encourage you to go on with your plan, I will suggest that you do some research and learn what’s collectible. You won’t leave the thrift store with as much stuff but you’ll make more per transaction. Look for special editions or collectors editions with unique packaging. After years and years of searching for media you’ll learn how to instantly spot it because it’s something you never saw before. My personal record was $1.50 cd from clearance bin and it sold for around $140.

Number one selling rule is sell what people like,in excellent condition and under cut your competitors but in my case i,m a pre 1960 78 rpm era collector and old discs material simply does not sell in big sales compared to say lady gaga,s latest junk music.but then everyone to their taste because there is a lot of snobbery in music tastes and different quality of sounds and you can,t easily compare pre ww2 recordings with today,s modern music-the former is massively more interesting in the music I deal with !

@@wheeldealrepeat3698 Yes, I understand what you're saying. It probably does have something do to with that. I don't mind working hard, but not always. However, I do sell CD's myself when I have the time for it, but it's more like a hobby. It's not because I want to make a living out of it. It's a lot of work, and it costs a lot of time, and you won't end up rich from doing it. I think I earn more $ from my work at the office than I would earn on fulltime buying and selling CD's and other stuff. But okay, it's a choice you know. You have to do whatever makes you happy in life.
