This is amazing. Just a tip that somebody watching this video may not know: armour and prot doesmt save you from potion effects so the time it takes for them to kill you is going to be the same with any type of armour

I thought you would just use the dolphin's base damage it does by default to kill the player, but the instant damage is a nice touch! (For anyone wondering or forgetting, dolphins can indeed kill you. They are neutral mobs)

I think it's just so amazing that creators of _all kinds_ are helping with TeamSeas by doing their own special kind of normal content, but also helping with the this amazing goal!

Just a few suggestions: 4:23 - you should add ' facing @p' to the end of the command, because otherwise it might lunge side on, and that would be strange for any spectators 4:21 - I also noticed you had the tag 'shark', which means you could add some sort of shark spawning system, by making every dolphin without the tag 'spawned' assigned a random number (between 1 to however rare you want them to spawn) on a scoreboard, and if they get a specific number, they're tagged 'shark', but either way they're tagged 'spawned' in the end, so it only affects newly spawned dolphins That's all. The armor doesnt change anything because armor doesnt protect from potions or effects To fix that you could summon an invisible drowned at the location of the shark with strength or something and always teleport it with the shark

Love the video! I think it's so cool that you made sharks without mods. One thing I noticed was the problem you had with the dolphin following you. I believe an easy fix would be making the dolphin rotate towards you and move in that direction. I haven't yet tested this in game, so it's mostly for reference, but the command I'd probably use would look something like this: /execute as @a at @s run execute at @e[type=dolphin,distance=..5] at @s if block ~ ~ ~ water run tp @s ^ ^ ^0.5 facing entity @p So it's looking for a dolphin in water that's five blocks or less from a player and teleporting half a block in front of itself in the direction of that player. Hopefully this was at least a little helpful, keep up the good work.

You could've tried making it conditional rather than a tick of redstone, it makes the chain command trigger if the chain command before it triggered successfully. I haven't tested it myself but I believe it will work.

I don't know if you can do this with just commands or if you need to make it a datapack, but if you edit the ai of all the dolphins with the tag "shark", you can make them cause them to always be aggressive.

As some people are suggesting things in the comments: I don't know how comfortable you are with writing functions but you could have used a function at 3:50 with the gamerule and used the /schedule command to schedule the gamerule setting after 1 tick.

The reason they deal so much damage to full netherite is cause the harming effect actually ignores any armor attributes, so the only thing actually reducing the damage they deal is the protection enchantment Yeah mojang did not give us any way to directly deal damage that's affected by armor

you could've literally left them exactly how they were, they were neutral mobs before and all you'd have to do is make it so that if the player got too close you'd change their nbt so that they were aggro'd towards the player.

6:20 can't you just give each player one unpickable item and have that item constantly teleporting to you? So you use a scoreboard let's say it's called haveItem and if that specific is one block near the player it sets that players haveItem to 1 then you summon that item in every player who don't have haveItem 1. It's also should be less laggy than constantly spawning and killing the item

Sharks aren't aggressive to humans. When sharks do attack, it's the result of confusing the human (who's typically swimming on a surf board) with a seal or some other prey, or protecting their hunting spaces from intruders. You're more likely to be killed by a vending machine falling on top of you than by a shark. Most of the time, sharks are just curious. They may follow you a bit to see what you're doing in their water, but they won't attack unless they feel threatened.
