One good advice, IF you have the space , leave your sleepingbags open, not packed... it's beter for insulation 😊

Luckily my husband has the same love of hiking so our bedroom has 6 tents, numerous rucksacks, lots of sleeping bags in it. The cooking stoves (please note the use of the plural!), fuel etc live on shelves in the cellar along with the hurricane lamp and the Kelly Kettle!

Hi! i really like your videos and respect for the hikes you do, especially alone! one little thing in this video, perhaps you think about storing your sleeping bags in a big waterproof bag, so they are not compressed but ly fluffy in a big bag. this is so the filling inside lasts longer, in comparison to storing them in the compression bag. most of the time you hang the sleeping bag somewhere for a night when back home to completely dry it, so you have to pull it out of the compression bag anyways at home. keep up the with your videos and have fun on your hikes!

You are a proper prepper;-). I like the crossbow and bow and arrow in the cupboard. I have so much stuff so it is in different places. But here we go: kayaks at the club, climbing gear in the basement together with 2 tents, sleeping mats, sleeping bags and 5 stoves. Garage all other camping hardware, pots and pans, fuel bottles. Cupboard bedroom full with geocaching stuff = headlamps, magnets, tools, containers, vast coin collection.

Nice! Since I was a kid, I was like this! I remember my first little bug out/ camping bag was an old army sack that I filled with stuff that I thought I needed. At the age of 12 I thought that for some reason I needed two big emergency flares. 😆 Ever since then I'm always fiddling with my gear and pack. I'm 35 now.🤷

Heyyy, good outdoor music and proper doggo! I am organizing my stuff very prescisely after trip, you can immediately get a picture from the pile what was the weather, what kind of ground i was roaming, did i had open fire, and so on! Seriously, during active backpacking season i try to keep stuff as go-ready as possible. First trip is just a nearby testing, kind of a warm-up. Cheers from Finland 🤘🏕

YE I did the same wooden shelving with the canvis covers in my utility room looked all tidy then I filled every free space and more with kit and I still ended up chucking everything in the loft as shelving just gave me the opportunity to get more stuff. I even ended up with multiplesbof stuff when my doughter was old enough to join me .On the positive getting new kit to try kept us out and about in the wilds.. think can see where your going!

Haha, I have the same racks for my camping gear. Got them for free as someone had set them outside for the rubbishman to collect, along with a large pile of wood and what not's. Manhandled them to my home one by one and finally got everything organized. You would be amazed what people trow away. Last year I saved a lovely old Feuerhand storm lantern from the scrapheap. Rusty, but after a little sandblasting as good as new.

Bottom Cupboard has boots ( b1,b2 , 3 and double) apart from my most used light weight ones. And crampons . Draws between them hats and gloves neck guards ect. In the shelved glass fronted cupboard above .cookers and cooking kit ,electrics. Helmets micro spikes . Spair pegs and snow pegs .( winter kit is used a lot as Iive 21km from the summit of Mulhacen, Sierra Navada spain ) first aid kit emergency kit .rucksacks, sleeping systems waterproofs, wind proofs and other clothes and tents stored in bedrooms .main bedroom massive and downstairs as was originally the barrel room of a bodega ) Some kit stays in my everyday rucksack so I don't have pack basics ever time .

I have a lot of gear for camping, bushcraft, survival ,hunting and hiking . I have around 134 guns and enjoy fixing them and building custom rifles or pistols. At one point I had over 200 but getting older so getting rid of some by either selling or gifting to family and friends. My room is most all the basement plus a shop outside that I use to build guns and reload ammo and has it's own 100 yard rifle range just along side of it the other side is a screened area family and friends visit in it has a bathroom and wet bar as well as picnic tables for bbq's and always stocked with cold beers.

hey Claire, first of all thanks for sharing. i got one reccomendation- mayby it would look awesome if u got a wallpaper behind your shelving with a nature picture on it, for example a picture of a lightly wooded forest. Of course it depends on the size of the room and the rest of the equipment whether it fits or not, at least that's the image that came into my head when I saw the video. anyway great video as allways, keep it up.

That is so smart keeping the water bladders in the freezer. Still, I'm reminded a little bit of Charlie Frost's RV (played by Woody Harrelson) in "2012." He was prepared for anything. Yours is a lot neater though.

I noticed your coffeee packets on the shelf. As a type 2 diabetic I accumulate a lot of those strong watertight test strip canisters. Three grams of instant coffee in one of those canisters makes a great cup of coffee at a much lower cost than those individual packets.

Mine is all in the study.... which has come in quite handy on a number of occasions when I've dug out a trangia stove and made a brew whilst on a Zoom/Teams call!!!

You’re so organized! I put all my stuff in a tent shed on my balcony because no storage space

We are not supposed to store sleeping bags in their stuff sacks. We are supposed to hang them over a hanger so we don't destroy the loft memory.

That 2 second satire of American outdoor macho-girl with the bow was pretty funny. You should do a few more like that

Love it really well organised, better than having to crawl around in the loft to find ‘that thing’ great video! One thing though don’t know if anyone else has posted but looks at the quick glance we got you have your bow limbs on backwards. Keep up the great videos loving the Rhinogs series, love the wildness of that place!

Thank you Claire for creating such beautiful videos . I love your energy and your love and respect for the out of doors . I wish someone like you had been around when I was in my 20’s as I would love to “wild camp” just like you . Of course drones and easy to use cameras make filming so much easier compared to what was available in my youth . I am 75 at this moment so I would be too nervous to hike in deep tick invested weeds , or areas where there might be a deep bog ( like the one you fell into on one of your hikes) ….or on paths made up of irregular , sharp stones You are such a breath of fresh air ! You make wild camping look like so much fun …… even when the howling winds are battering your tent or it is raining so hard it makes it difficult to pack up your tent ! Please continue to create videos …..especially in Scotland and Wales as I love the landscape photography ! Wishing you decades upon decades of wild camping in the great outdoors , Mary Shepherd of Ontario, Canada

After eating baked beans or onions, I always make a point of not operating my bedroom light switches, 13 Amp sockets, producing static electricity with my clothing, having inspirations or using candles; indeed anything that can produce sparks. Echoing Colin and Tim, I would suggest storing flammable materials in your garage or garden shed if possible. George. "Mum, what on earth was that loud bang"? Claire. "I think the shed just exploded George"! George. "Oh, that's ok then". Any thoughts of exploring The Icknield Way out East? A most underwalked route. (I'd better move my little gas stove outside after use in a recent power cut...guilty as charged)!

Similar here Claire except I don't have the organisation on shelves. I have 3 tents in my room with my rucksack, camera bags, camera, video camera, camping box, chair's, windbreak, cycling gear, then the gas stoves and axe's are out in the garage with the solar generator. I love going "off grid camping", fortunately I have an estate car 👍😂😂 Great content by the way, I love your can do approach but also knowing when to step back and reassess 👍👏😁 ATB Andy Just subscribed 👍

Envious of your organisation skills. My stuff is mixed up in plastic crates in the garage. Also envious of your willpower......kit Kat at arms length ?😃
