Thx for sharing Nat🙃 My training is mainly focused on having a performant body for fighting, and I mainly train at the mma club, monday to friday from 2:30/3 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. (sometimes i stay even past 10 p.m. to teach others and train a bit more); on saturday I go mountain biking with a couple of friends (we do about 30 kilometers), or i go to the taekwondo dojo to teach, or i stay at home and do some training and Poomse in my garage.

Great video, you do a lot of work, good stuff 👍 I started doing powerlifting to improve my overall strength for taekwondo, and after 3 years on and off training (had 2 kids and moved states), I’m really starting to notice an improvement in the power of my kicks, without slowing down much at all. Lifting weights can definitely help improve your martial arts.

For those who Don't do both gym or in any clubs(i know there is alot of us) But here you go a basic intro to my session. , I like focusing on muscle that will be useful for my body n self defense(martial art) techniques. 1, Stretch. Nothing better than stretching first before doing anything, Do Whatever u learned on PE classes and searh up more from online. 2, Squats. Im not that disciplined so i do around 30 squat then horse stance hold for 30 second then walk abit and 30 more squat and ho horse stance for 30 second and repeat this until i have done around 100-120. 3, Push up. I do alot of these around 200-300 per day. Start with 5 push up Everytime ur not feeling it right. Focus on perfect push ups. I do about 50 perfect push ups 40 arch push ups and 20 knuckle push ups. 4, core and hips. I do cruches about 40-50(take break if ur not used to it) Sit ups around 100. Leg raises until u can't. Russian twister or something like that until u can't. Plank until u can't. Then go for a knuckle plank just try to hold it and be calm if ur nervous ull hurt ur wrist. Hold as long as u can. 5, Train i train techniques in-between these exercises. I mostly focus on boxing primarily. 2nd you can watch Nat's videos for some techniques (basically challenge urself to those techniques) i do mix abit of muay thai techniques like elbow knee head butts(sorry im not a ring fighter or amateur) so i just fight dirty. 6, Rest. I rest alot in between n continue to do it. I Don't worry about my body looks or stuff like that i just need to be strong from inside n able to draw out raw power from inside. 7, Do Cardio n dont be lazy. Be patient with ur body n relax when u exercise. I dont lift so i can't say much just buy gripper and jump ropes :v

Hey nice video! I'm not a martial artist expert but I would like to say that in order to develop power you don't need to do only plyometrics (which targets the direct speed and rate of force development of your muscles) but also strenght training because in order to he powerful you have to fast but also to be able to generate a lot of force that can indeed be expressed fast. So doing controlled negatives and explosive concentrics of squats for low reps (

I personally enjoy calisthenics as I feel they not only help with strength, but also with balance. Things like pistol squats, or one arm pushups (which i cant do quite yet), planche progression holds (as you were doing in the video), and quite a few other workouts can help a lot with balance, especially pistol squats. I also like to include one leg calf raises, which are quite experimental so I'm not sure if they're effective yet, but they seem like they could help balance overall. I also definitely like to include explosives in there, especially for kicking strength. I think that overall, it really is just personal preference, and in the end, the best is probably a mix between calisthenics and weightlifting, but for me personally, I'm sticking with calisthenics for now. I think that doing research is the most important thing to do when making a routine, so don't take everything I said as facts, and do your own research to anyone trying to make a routine. Great video as always.

I havent trained for years but I now have a baby boy on the way and I need to show him the man I want him to be. I will be training for strength but they also have punch bags and pads which I will be using and developing my own blend of Boxing, Muay Thai and Taekwondo (might even teach my gym bro how to actually fight and use his muscles lol). For explosiveness with kicks I been doing a lot of box jumps and also doing tendon and joint strength exercises like horse stance. I also LOVE rowing machines because it gives a full body work out, helps coordinate your muscles to work together and flow into each other (dont know if this makes sense but in my head it did lol) and it's GREAT cardio. I'm pretty flexible already and can pull off a sloppy head kick but I been using some of your stretching exercises at home and hope to be getting full power follow through soon ✌💪💪

Quick tip: calisthenics skills are not meant to be held on a daily basis. Especially the move you used in the video which is a tucked planche. This is because these movements involve lots of joints and connective tissues in the body (which take up to 30 days to recover) and engage the central nervous system (which also takes a long time to recover). So instead, sticking with more basic calisthenics strengthening exercises will benefit you more if you're looking for longevity :)

I think when you do martial arts you get toned but if you want the most bang for your buck you should do compound movements like dead’s, squats, bench, dips and pull-ups. They will add that size you really need while keeping toned and lean from fighting. Bike riding is another thing I do which is good for cardio and leg development.

Ey good stuff! Like the routine, very simple and consistent. My goals this year are to put on muscle AND get back into fighting shape because I've been slacking with my karate training since doing weights and bands This is a LONG explanation so only read if you lot want to don't worry 😄👍 My current routine consists of Monday and Wednesday: Upper Body (chest, back arms, punches, blocks) In the morning or 30 minutes before my weights, I will do a 2 minute warm up for my arms, then I move on to stretches after they've warmed up. Then I put on my wrists these velcro weights I got for christmas and I perform 3 sets of blocks (slow, medium l, fast) with a 1 minute rest inbetween each set ( head level, stomach level, inside hook, downwards, sweeping). After that, I have a 2 minute rest and do the same routine with punches (head, stomach, backhand and 3 elbow varient I don't know the names😄). After another 2 minute rest, I do 3 2 minute rounds of either shadow boxing or bag work, depending on the time. My weight routine, I do 3 sets of up to 20 reps for every exercise Bicep curls, seated rows, shrugs, upright rows, lateral raises, tricep kickbacks, weighted pushups Tuesday and Thursday: Lower Body(abs, legs, kicks) The martial arts is pretty much the exact same as with punches but obviously with kicks. Start with a warmup, stretch, strap on the velcro weights and perform 3 sets of kicks (slow, medium, fast) from a back stance position (front, round, side, back, hook). And then end with 3 2 minute rounds on the bag or in the air. Weight training: sit ups, leg raises, side leg raises, squats, leg extensions, lying leg curls,

Well, here's how I do mine. Everyday, I just do stretches of all kinds, especially the legs. I try to push my limits everyday in terms of flexibility, which would be useful against Judo/JJ/BJJ guy's Ne Waza as it would make me more resistant to it (Or well, more pliable rather). Every other day or every two days, I beat myself, or have someone else beat me with arnis sticks to condition my body to pain, especially on the legs. As for the head, I just ask for light punches with gloves. Other than that, I do explosive and muscular endurance training once or twice a week. I sorta need it to improve my stand up game and to last longer on the ground. I train a lot more on Judo than I do karate, so right now, my fighting style is closer to that of a Kudoka/Samboist than a traditional Karateka lol.

Hello Nat, I really love your videos. I did WingChun for the past six years and will try out Taekwondo to try a sport with more kicks. Besides my martial arts training in the gym, I do 1hr martial arts workouts at home (stretching, boxing HIIT, kicking) every day and Calisthenics (sets) for six days a week. I got some bigger shoulders and arms which kind of worries me. Do I have to worry about getting too big muscles and having lower martial arts performance? Since I only have my body weight, I will be able to do more reps with time, so my theory is that in the long term, my training will more affect muscle endurance than building bigger muscles. I still would like to know your opinion. Thanks for the nice content!

Hi, I have done martial arts since I was little and always had a fighting spirit, specifically karate. At the age of 8 I competed with two teammates in kata nationally and won bronze. I won a few medals in fighting too. I moved countries and lost time and determination for a year but did other sport. I am now glad to come back and train in a club but I am 13 and can you please give good exercises for people who can't go to the gym?

3 hours of pure mma training (technique training, heavy bag cardio, and joy jitsu) for 4 days then 2 days of pure strength and conditioning more emphasis on the cardio then a single rest day on Sunday. Of course stretching as soon as you wake up and right before you go to bed

personally all my training is explosiveness, i dont train for aesthetics yet because competing in mma is more important than getting girls rn (ill get them later) i do exercises like extremely deep jumping squats, pushing a massive weight up and down the room or whatever they call it, and i also focus on big compound lifts, deadlifts, squats and the overhead press along with some explosive push ups, its a full body session that i do about 3-4 times a week combined with mma and bjj training
