In this webinar, Benjamin Terrier talked about how he treats ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV) and discussed the following points:
- Rituximab is widely used to induce remission of patients with AAV, even if cyclophosphamide has still a role in some situations.
- Reduced-dose of glucocorticoids has been shown to be noninferior compared to standard dose, with a reduction in the occurence of serious infections.
- Maintenance therapy is required in the majority of patients, and rituximab was demonstrated to be superior than conventional immunosuppressive agents.
