I started with 5k and went up to 7K the week after. This made it easier to take it up to 10k. I started exploring my neighbourhood more and I’m at 21K after 3 weeks. It’s gotten easier to tackle everyday stresses because if I can walk for 2-3 hours in the morning and still be alive, I can literally do anything 😊

As someone who does 10,000 steps for the whole year. My body has honestly changed mentally and physically. I’ve started making diet changes the more I keep walking. It’s helped me eat my fruit and vegetables throughout the day. So I would highly encourage people to start walking. Your body will thank you.

I’m playing Tennis so I do sports almost everyday. HOWEVER, when I tell you that walking and swimming changed everything for me, wow. I’m not the biggest fan of going into the gym, so besides Tennis, I had to find something that will bring me fun and joy. Fortunately, I have a dog, so going on long walks isn’t the problem, I’m doing something good for the both of us. And swimming really calms me and is kinda like therapy after a long, stressful day. Just 30 minutes of swimming laps really changed everything.

If you are at home, I would recommend to Dance throughout the day. You can get your steps like that and pretty fast, too. If you dance 1 song, is like 3-5 minutes and about 200 steps. That’s what I do. Nothing crazy, but move around. Hope this helps.

#75kclub Best part of the beginning of my day/ Mondays!! Yes walk and work! Definitely wanna try this! I’m so used to running and then dancing for years. Now that my job requires so much more physical labor, running has not been much of an option for my joints. So now I’ve just been walking downtown and enjoy going up the bridges and the view is so much more refreshing because I have more time to see the view. Nature girl 😉 Thanks again Bria! I love how you broke it up into 3 time slots with creative ways on how to knock it out. So used to doing this all in one go in the morning or afternoon. It’s nice to switch it up especially when your body is changing and to adjust to the challenges of life. You’re the best! Thankyou again Besti❤️👑🥂🙏🏽

Something I do to get more steps in is either watch a show, scroll on my phone, or play games while I walk. I go into work and the idea of working more when I get home is discouraging to me. But switching it (walking) from being paired with work to pairing it with fun is more motivating for me.

If you MUST watch TV, Pace during commercials. When you are waiting for the water to boil for your tea. Pace. I walk around our kitchen island for this. When cooking, If you normally are just standing there, Pace back and forth as you wait for things to cook. When the weather is tolerable, Go to a park and walk the walking paths. Vacuum, I know it is not the most FUN thing, But think of it as a more home-bound full-body workout. You get steps in, an arm workout, and a vacuumed floor in the process. There have been times after I have vacuumed the whole house that I KNOW why Grandmom was so thin.

You are correct that 10,000 steps was a marketing tool. Research has shown that 8,000 steps will help change your body and improve your health (along with a good diet, of course), and you only need 5,000 steps to maintain your current health and body shape. Your advice is great to break it down in 3 30-minute sessions. Another secret is to break down some of the sessions into 10-minute walking sessions if you don’t have 3 30-minute blocks. It’s a quick walk during a work coffee break, or a walk session during a lunch break.

I walk to get a small treat pretty often. And, when I say small treat, I mean less than 100 calories, not a 300 calorie coffee. I also make my own coffee/tea in to go cups so it feels like I got a drink on the walk, but I fully control how much sugar and calories are in it. I'll walk 2 miles round trip to Whole foods just to get an 80 calorie salmon jerky or an ingredient I need for dinner. Or, I'll do 2 miles roundtrip to go to the hair store just to get lip gloss. I'm also in a southern state where I can carry, so that makes me feel better about walking places.

I don't have a walking pad so I just walk back and forth from my kitchen to my living room while reading or watching something on my.phone. also when I want to I get my steps by jogging on the rebounder. If I want more steps but don't feel like walking, I go to sams club or the mall. Lately I've been going on walks with my friend

Thing is encouraging people to walk more is great and should be done but don't lie lol it will not make ypu feel amazing even if you lose weight you might feel a little better but it's not a magic pil I'm telling you I feel fine sitting on the couch watching tv but it's all about mindset it's prob better for my body not to do that I think we all just need to be more adult about some thing unless you have always liked walking it's not going to magically help your mental health if you hate it I hate all forms of exercise that isn't a game lol so for me I need to walk while I'm doing something else to take my mind off the fact I'm just walking I don't get mental clarity by walking I just get my steps in and I'm a bit sweatier I do it purely just to move my body that's all as that is all it is for some people for those who somehow got a new life just by walking (you are lying you did other stuff too) good for you for the rest if us walk to move your body that's all
lack of time management is making you UGLY
