During our trip to Thailand, we enrolled for the PADI Open Water course. After learning the basic skills of scuba diving in the pool, we headed to the ocean, where I was really scared and ready to give up, but somehow I managed to overcome my fear and turn it into love for the underwater world.

I experienced more or less the same thing. I was in the Maldives ( alone) and every day lying on the beach I was watching scuba divers going around with the boats. I always thought that one was a very dangerous and nonsense sport, I always thought scuba divers were crazy and stupid ones risking so much... but at the end I decided to take courage and go on one of those boats. I liked it that much that I kept on diving every day during that holiday. Years passed and now I even have a first grade license and I am now studying to take the second grade that will allow me to dive deeper, up to -30 meters... well, now I am one of those crazy/stupid ones as well. 😅😄

It sounds scary but it is the best activity I have done. I now can go up to 40 meters 😊 good luck with your journey

Yes!! The book is so scary! I broke down crying thinking I couldn’t do it!!! I accidentally sucked in water through actuator I forgot to purge and then every time I went underwater I got too scared! Thinking you can’t just surface if you do something like that.

Yeah, the book is crazy. I understand scuba diving can be dangerous but not as much as the book emphasises. I am happy that I pushed myself to do it, because if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to see some magical places underwater.
