How I upgraded my Kai's Fire Mech into a Beast! Simple elbows and knees MOD for dynamic action pose

This is how I upgraded my Kai's Elemental Fire Mech to be able to do awesome action poses.
I used pieces from my own collection to give it flexible elbows and knees with great range of motion.

Hi Mech fans! 😁 Some people are asking for instructions and the part list for this build. I feel that the video can provide the information you need to build this upgrade and I think people don't need to pay more for it. For my side, making instructions takes time away from building and making stuff and I should not do it for free due to those reasons (feels like work 😂). With this simple dilemma of mine, I decide if this comment makes 100 likes then I'll do it as many people would benefit. More likely it will be 2 USD or reply what do you think it's worth to you. I usually make average instruction guides enough to help the users. 😁 You can like this comment too even if you feel the video is already sufficient and you don't need it but still think that an instruction guide and part list can still help others. I hope this doesn't sound like a quick cash grab idea but sharing builds no good if not all can build it. @@Mechalaroare you able to do different upgrade using existing parts, like two of the same sets? I tried your Zora and Cole mechs and they are awesome. Love the bulkiness and extra details.

I love your Mocs because it still feels like lego made it.A lot of people when they upgrade mechs they change the whole thing and make it ridiculously thousands of pieces.Yours is affordable and more Lego-like.I haven’t gotten this Kai mech so at first when I looked at the thumbnail,I thought that was the real version.Great work man.I plan on buying this set but I’m saving up for march sets and maybe another sora mech depending on how your upgrade looks.

Thanks for the comment 😁 I wanted to keep the proportions of the mech to help me focus my mind. I tend to drift while building and I never finish sometimes. I try to minimize the added parts if it's an upgrade build to help people to try it out. Hmm... about Sora's mech. I plan to mash two sets together(well what's remains of second copy 🤣) first then I will look for the parts of bike mech set to make another version. I haven't finalized both versions but I just want to add "Tech" to it 🤣 Worst case, I'll upgrade it like how I did Kai's Elemental Fire Mech but using a different approach😁

@@MechalaroI’d like you to just do another sora mech.The sora tech mech bike racer is almost 50$ for where I live and for others it’s like 65$.To keep it a bit cheaper I’d like you to just do 2x the mech.

THANK YOU, WHY COULDN'T LEGO DO THIS. These modifications are great and make the build a million times better i still hope Kai gets a official Titan Mech though.

Thanks! 😁 I might make my own Llyod mech before the official set is release by march if I get more parts aligned to his colors. I might base it on Llyod's Evo mech to avoid the new gold armor... but I need the new ratchet joint too.. So I'll need more Sora's Elemental Tech mech sets? Let's see 😂

@Mechalaro yea and also how come u didn't try to make possible hands for kai's mech the arm detail looks cool. At least u can find a way to make poses for the mech

@jaycrafter3051 I had an idea to add wrist articulation but I can't find a 1x2 plate that had a pin hole at the bottom. The plate that came with the set was too wide to make it work. Might do it for the other builds when I find some in those colors 😊

I think there are no Ninjago sets that has that part. I usually just buy that at local LEGO Sellers. It's really useful for mech builds.

I made a climber mech for Sora with the pieces from 71807 and 71792 and it turned out really well but at the thighs the rest of the legs fall off very easily and it's annoying but like i said before you can try too

Good to hear your progress in your build! I usually start with the legs just to get the mech standing straight then strip it bit by bit if I really need parts😁 For my version of Sora's mech, I'm trying to do something with the extra parts from second set of 71807. Since I only used the new Ratchet Joint and Emblem just to improve my Zane's Mech, I wanted to see what I can do with the remaining pieces to upgrade my first 71807 set. It now has Drones and a backpack now! Will still tinker with it for another week maybe. My 71792 is still back home so that combination might get done around second half of the year 😂

I clicked on looking for inspiration for my own additions to this mech line. Now I'm wondering if the parts for those thrusters exist in any shades of green

I think in dark green . I know the big armor layered piece and the pentagon tiles came in dark green. those can be found in LEGO set 71794. The Translucent Orange inverted round tiles don't have green versions from what I can find in the net.

@@Mechalaro ah. Might use the samurai mech armor piece in white. Dark green is one of the few shades I was hoping to not need. But green with white and gold will be the overall color scheme

Hmm.. I looked for a local LEGO parts seller before deciding to build mechs. I usually just buy pieces from that seller then looked for other sellers if I need more. I also study the part lists of sets before buying. My budget is very tight and I have a small room so I try to get the parts that I think I can use.😁

Yup, that's my plan for Jay mech. Sadly, I'm still collecting pieces for it and the other characters. The hardest part to find is the new waist piece. Tried to get more by buying more of the new sets but it's not feasible in my current situation. 🤣 Will try something out while waiting for the necessary pieces to be available at bricklink 😂

Honestly I can't remember and I have shipped this MOC back home. You can take screenshots of the pieces I shown for every part then compare it to the list of parts of the instruction for the original set. That's what I would do😁

Yup. I'm doing version 1. It's an upgrade version of the original design. Version 2 will be same scale to the bigger Elemental mechs 😁

my Jay's Elemental Mech is in WIP mode now. Testing out some things. I finished the battle mech upgrade first 😁 Might complete it by next week. Need to finish the Video guide for the smaller version 1 first. I also have Upgrade Sora's mech using the remaining parts from my 2nd Sora set 😁
