I lowered my stool a notch and finally found a comfortable way to have both feet on the floor. Derrik Wagner has that going on and I always thought it so solid a position. Feels good atm

I use a collapsible classical guitar foot stool. Stores easily in my bass bag and I think it cost about $20 bucks.

An alternative (alas, more expensive) is definitely the bass support invented by Petru Juga. It solves posture problems and, by eliminating the contact between the knee and the back of the instrument, significantly increases the overall resonance. I was skeptical at first, but using it made me change my mind.
