Thanks man! Means a lot 🙏🏽. Using midi is super helpful! I love the C4 Synth! It’s really cool because you can dial in normal guitar effects too. No this only works with midi capable pedals. But check out some of Morningstars other gear! They have a looper that is controlled via mid and even a new adapter to help tap into the expression/tap trs jacks of analog pedals!

So the white switcher is a normal dumb switcher that changes banks on the MC3? What does the AE utility pedal do? That just to make plugging in your out cables easier?
@nobesmusic Жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes the white switcher is just and aux switch banking up and down on the MC3. The Ae pedal is just a passive stereo sum to mono. So it’s not associated with the MC3

How are you connecting the lamb to the MC3? i know it goes from 1/8TRS to 1/4TRS, but are you using a specific adapter?

I am just using the 1.8mn trs aux chord and using a 1.8mm to 1/4” adapter! Basically a headphone adapter. But I think you can also buy 1.8mm to 1/4” on Amazon or something

I have two Amplifiers (EVHiii with MIDI) and I need a switcher to help me switch amplifier channels at the same time. Will this work and how?
@nobesmusic2 жыл бұрын
Hey man! I’m not familiar with that model, but if it has midi, it should definitely work! If it’s 5 pin you would send it from the MC3 into one amp and hopefully that amp would have a Thru to send to the other. You’d just have to make sure both amps were set to different midi channels and look at their manuals to see what message you need to send to change amp channels 👌🏽

Can the mc3 affect multiple pedals with one click? I see you can send clock to pedals but does it show the tempo? I’m guessing I’d have to look at my delay pedal where the command is sent to see the blinking led for tempo.
@nobesmusic11 ай бұрын
Yes! You can send that midi information to as many pedals as you want. You can either send tap tempo, where in the live mode you can see the bpm, and then also midi clock, where you can’t see because it’s already been programmed so you would have already known it. It’s great!

Thank you for the very informative video. I was wondering if I could use this MIDI footswitch to switch between the 4 channels on my H&K GM40 Deluxe Amp. If yes, where can I find more info on how to do this Thx.
@nobesmusic Жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yea you can totally do that. You can control it via midi, which is exactly what the MC3 can do! You can either have have each channel programmed for each switch, toggle between them in order, or even have two channels on a single switch (press, double press, long press) and two on the other and use the third switch as your favorite channel you can jump to anytime. Just gotta read the manual to see what midi message it needs

Wonderful! Seems a bit intimidating lol Having to bank up, down, switch banks etc... Is it easy to use + memorize for live playing? This is all new to me and having so many pedals, its time to stop tap dancing lol Thanks!

It definitely is a bit intimidating when you first start, but after those first few steps you’ll get the hang of it! It’s just getting used to routing everything correctly. It’ll definitely keep you from the tap dancing haha

This was an excellent demonstration of the MC3’s capabilities. I’ve been contemplating between a Morningstar or the RJM PBC, but the price difference is tremendous. Besides, I will only be using a fraction of the RJM’s capabilities. My only reservation about this MC3 is it won’t work with my non-midi pedals (mainly my overdrive pedals). Do you have any suggestions?
@nobesmusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! And yes the MC3 is epic! Great size, price point, and capability. Regarding your overdrives, you can potential sell them to get midi friendly overdrives, which could be less overdrives than you currently have since you won’t need to stack them but use different presets for gain stages, or you can buy Morningstar’s ML5 switcher which is a looper that is run by midi, so you’d essentially be controlling your overdrive pedals via midi by turning them on and off, or saving specific overdrives on for specific presets on the MC3!
@johannmunoz_gtr3 жыл бұрын
Hello friend, I'm between this pedal and the MC6 (Since I saw in a video that the MC6 shows the tap tempo that you press) In this MC3 I do not see that the screen shows the tap pressed live, only the tap of the previously saved banks. Can you clarify my doubt? I thank you, I am also a worship guitarist.
@nobesmusic3 жыл бұрын
Hey! So whenever it shows a Tap Switch, it is because it is programmed onto that switch, even on the MC6, you’d have to program the specific switch to be a tap function on each bank. On the other banks I didn’t need tap tempo because it was songs with set BPMs and click. I only program the tap if I know I’m playing a set where there isn’t a click or I know they might change the BPM. So if you want, you can always copy and paste the Tap Function onto each bank on the same switch, both on the MC3 and the MC6 👌🏽

Could I use this Morning Star MC 3 with a Behringer VTONEGMX30 which has TRS channel changing and a built in midi effects processor ? I tried using the Behringer FCB1010 but it was ridiculously hard to figure out ?And how much in Canadian dollars ?

Hey! I’m not too familiar with that model, but if it receives midi it should totally work! The MC3 has 4 ports for TRS Midi communication. Unfortunately I do not know how much they are in Canadian dollars.

I have a boss gt-1000 core. Wondering if I could use a regular trs cable to connect the mc3? Or is there a specific midi 3.5mm cable to buy?
@nobesmusic2 жыл бұрын
Hey! You would need something like a 1/4 TRS with a 3.5mm to go into the MC3 or you’d need a 3.5mm TRS with 1/4” adapter go into the gt1000. I know Caulfield Cables actually make 3.5 into 1/4” though. And Morningstar has some great options online to with adapters
@sonicmistress Жыл бұрын
Just FYI: In case you didn't know, even 5 Pin Midi Cables only have 3 wires connected so any 3.5mm Cable will work as long as the wiring meets the Gears midi preference, TypeA//B - Same applies to 1/4" (As some pedals use 1/4" for Midi - You can make your own 3.5>1/4 Cable)

@@nobesmusic Thanks man. I just got an MC3 myself. Is there any benifit to running each pedal of a different port? Or should they be daisy chained to the same one? Is there a difference in outcome?
@nobesmusic2 жыл бұрын
@@holmanconde so for pedals that are 5 pin midi, they have to be daisy chain via midi. The only isolated ones are by TRS, so you can have 4 of those with the MC3. Even though the 5pin midi is daisy chained, they still function individually. They need to have their own channels. Each pedal should have instructions on how to assign the channel to a different number 👌🏽

Have you been able to get the D1 to ping pong from Left to Right? It seems like the trails do it as I bypass the pedal but cant get it to ping pong at all when engaged
@nobesmusic2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes! The D1 actually has different bypass options. In their manual they show how to do it, but I think you need it to be on the Blue DSP Bypass. Also the only setting that does the stereo ping pong thing is the Dual Delay setting, but with the mod tone and age knob you can make that sound digital, tape, or analog which is great!
