I have yet to roll any contracts, that's because I jump into my trades not caring which side of the wheel I'm on... that's why it is SUPER important to only do this with stocks YOU do not mind owning & at strike prices that you really like ! I see people trying to do these with high flying spec stocks, get caught in some trouble and then have to roll.. the risk you take is all up to you

no, you sell puts when you are prepared to own the shares..you might or might not get assigned depending on your strike price. On the other hand, you sell covered calls once you own the 100 shares, select a strike price you are willing to sell your shares at.

@@ThinkMoneyBenny i actually do have a question. so ive been follwing chris sain and few other channels for a minute so i have 100 shares of NIO with an average of 13$ if i were to sell a call with a strike of 50$ and my shares were to get called away besides the premium do i also get the capital gains from my original average of 13?

@@NY4lyfe77 yes you do! when you sell a covered call, make sure it’s a strike price that you are comfortable selling your 100 shares at. I also try to sell my covered calls on big green days, bc that’s when you can collect a lot more premium for it. If I had Nio shares, i would sell a covered call at $75 and higher lol there’s decent premium to collect on that.... going 1 month out

IMO no one can know whether a stock will go up or down for sure , there are people who like to say they can using charts but I think it’s BS. me personally I don’t chart. I just go with my gut, common sense & exploring possible outcomes. I also stick to a set of stocks that I like, just because theres a new high flying stock out there, doesn’t mean Im going to jump on it.

$VYM would be a very safe and passive way to sell CSP's or wheel. Monthlies just like Benny said above.
