Thank you for this video! Just started using this today. Using regular calendar always felt too slow for me so I almost never used it. Todoit solves this problem for me. Was indeed satisfying going to store and tapping off each item as I put them to my shopping cart. Let's see if I remember to use this everyday but the start seems promising 🙂

Really appreciate your contents. Your insights to todoist do inspire many use cases for me. There are still some use cases of mine to consult your opinion: 1. How do you deal with tasks that are due in the future (say 3 days after) but would like to choose to do it today? Do you prefer to change to due date of such tasks to today, or would you create other views for different windows (say view for the upcoming week)? Maybe other approach? 2. How do you use Todoist to manage a series of learning course? Say if I got a self-paced course on udacity which have separate 6 chapters, and for each chapter I would like to hear through it, organize and understand it. Would you create separate tasks for each learning step for each chapters and time-blocking them? Or would you consider creating one task per chapter and use board view to manage them? Or maybe there are other better approach? 3. How would you use Todoist to manage a big task that is hard to split? e.g. I would like to read through a 150-pages magazine by the end of this month, and by each reading session I don't mind how many pages I go through. I just want to reach the target number by a specified due date. 4. How do you integrate the board view with today view? Say if I manage to move a specific task from column A forward to column B by today (while A & B are columns in my board view), what is your setup so that I get to see this intention in my today view?

One question Bryan: have you try using your Calendar as a to-do list? I use it in that way so I can organize that tasks: 1) In a specific time in a specific day/days, so I can quickly and easily ) In a specific time in a specific day/days, so I can quickly and easily view the context of that days 2) Organize that task as a "all day" event (if I can do it whenever I want)

Hey Bryan. This was great. How do you set your time per task - I mean do you follow a technique like pomodoro or deep work? I think I have ADHD (haven't been tested) and am just starting to use Todoist (also checking out Lunatask) and they have a Deep Work template that I'm not liking right now. Anyway, I'm more interested how you handle your tasks, and if you use any techniques to break up how long you focus on a task before you take a break, or if you even worry about it. Thanks so much. Roger

no i dont use pomodoro i actually hate it, not sure what the deep work method is as i havent started the book yet i let my hyperfocus take hold and do what im able to do, because at this point i need to just get things done and at some point if i just let loose the reins then it will actually get some shit done for me 🥲️

Bryan, Great video... Do you know if there is a way make the due date for a sub-task be be indexed-off of the due date of the "parent"-task? In other words, if a task is due 3 weeks before the parent-task's due date, can that sub-task's due date (and all of the other sub-tasks due dates) auto-fill based on the parent-task's due date?

When I first saw "collaborators" I didn't think it would be useful. Then I noticed that the Comments tab allows pictures. So if I'm going away and I've got someone watching my house and feeding my cat, I can post pictures here showing where things are, how to do stuff, etc. Being in tech support, I can definitively say that a picture is worth a thousand words. And sometimes a thousand hours.

@BryanJenks

Probably but I’ve never bothered
@themel5436
@themel5436 Жыл бұрын
@@BryanJenks So you use daily notes more like Diary/Jurnal than task manager. I think Obsidian is interesting here because you can join projects with tasks with [[]], I think you can't do this in Todoist, perhaps getting the Obsidian note url. In addition to the privacy it offers you, you cannot have Todoist offline (I don't remember exactly) and you depend on the servers

I have been using clickup for a year and it feels kinda like obsidian, in a way that it is really customizable and rich in features. What I miss from todoist is the - less clicks to do the thing.
