Well said. Let's also highlight: Avoid alcohol and foods that produce excessive inflammation (referenced but want to highlight the need for the RIGHT proteins, many Whey protein shake mixes are so bad for the body) get enough sleep. Rememember, working out MAKES YOU WEAKER. Restoration is what makes you stronger.

@@captain4865 doing cardio until you reach your limit before doing a workout is really bad. You can do light cardio if you want to warm up a bit before you start lifting but as far as I know, there are only downsides to doing intensive cardio before a workout.
@ca6360
@ca6360 Жыл бұрын
1. Push further than normal, an extra set or 2, usually a warmup set, then a feeder as he calls it, then you bring the heat, i would say max you can do cleanly with good form while giving proper resistance for 10 reps and push it for 2 to 3 more. Then follow up with 2 additional sets for 60% of that weight. You dont need a gym for most of this either, can use body weight or trx. Could do incline pushups, weighted ones, or even slow AF ones for example. 2. He said eat protein, 1 gram per body pound. Eat whole foods too 3. Take lots of images during this process. ( Make sure to use side lighting as shadow will better define changes. The scale may fool you. As you are losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time so results just using that are discouraging as appears nothing is happening. 4. He said get a mentor or a coach.

I had the opposite childhood to you. Had good money, decent house and cars around, my parents took care of everything financially, so I have absolutely 0 drive to get a lot of money since I've already had an abundance of it growing up. What we didn't have were good quality interactions in the family. Like an actually good vibe between people. (Too personal to get into, but there was quite a bit of subtle abuse in the family instead) But at 23.5 years old I feel kind of useless, never having had a job and being babied against my will, always discouraged from getting a job since they just paid for everything. I'm at the point where I'd literally be over the moon to get a job at McDonalds so I can have my own money and live independently. I'd be super happy with a small apartment, as long as I could suround myself with good people. My point is that in a weird way, you can be grateful for having grown up the way you did, even if you were financially poor.

Have you tried intermittent fasting? I turned age 21 last month. I grew up in gymnastics since age 4 and started serious weight training for hypertrophy when I was turning age 17 (a few months before my 17th birthday I got severely beat up). For me diet and protein intake was huge and lifting heavy and doing compound exercise. I also avoided legs as a gymnast but I wanted to gain a lot of muscle mass and that meant building up my legs. Listening to your story makes me think you might benefit from intermittent fasting and maybe powerlifting. Powerlifting can put a huge caloric demand on your body when you're recovering from weight training (thermogenic response). Keep it going.

Yeah, personally started seeing a big difference earlier this year. The end of last year I wasn't having enough protein but was eating clean, and not enough calories. Wasn't seeing a big difference, close to the beginning of the year I only focused on having at a minimum equal to my body weight in grams of protein and was still eating as clean as I could. Started to look jacked within 4 months similar to Seb, but somehow my stomach didn't equal the rest of my body. Found out I wasn't doing enough free weight/bodyweight exercises using stomach, started noticing a difference. Then my finances have been messed up since then, haven't been able to afford everything like I did, but I will surpass my previous accomplishment eventually.

Appreciate the advice brother. And yes if you make a nice detailed video about the foods you eat that would be great. Ik that 80% of your weight loss is all about what foods you eat.
@Paul-yk7ds
@Paul-yk7ds Жыл бұрын
Incorrect, weight loss is mostly about the quantity of calories you eat, not the specific foods. If you track your calories and protein and hit the right numbers, you can be quite flexible about which foods and still lose weight. There was a famous case study of a professor who ate only McDonalds and lost weight just to prove this point-calories matter more than food selection. Food selection is more important for overall health (micronutrients, antioxidants, fiber, etc) and making the diet enjoyable enough to sustain. (For example, like Sebastian said in the video, eating mostly whole foods helped keep him satiated, and then having pasta and a cheat meal helped him feel happy along the way-those are ways that food selection can just make the diet more sustainable.)

Interesting. I've always struggled with being skinny fat. Looking buff/jacked was never enough to motivate me to get fit. However now at 37, I'm finding low muscle with high fat percentage >25% but still good BMI say 22, classic skinny fat, is giving me poorer cognitive function.. brain fog etc, which is really bad when trying to start a business. When you young you get away with so much you don't realise. But the older you get your mind is only as fit as your body.

Man, I didn't expect that... I wonder what would you say if you check out what Eric Edmeades can tell you. If you want to diet but you afraid that you may lose your freedom of choice with food, Eric Edmeades asked one of his students/clients (whatever): you have a chocolate bar on the table. Can you NOT eat it? And then long story short, his student said no. Then Eric asked: If you can not eat the chocolate bar while it's before your eyes, where is your freedom of choice then? What's really up is mostly psychology and mindset, I really wonder what progress can you and some other people make if you ever go through Eric's biggest project, that man turned up my whole thinking about foods and I would cobfidently say that he partially solved immortality...

Yeah I don't think that it's good to torture your body.. You got to know when to eat and when to drink water. So far I know that eating after training is the best option because if you do it before training, you might feel heavy to train, so training, eating, muscles will feed, you don't want to drink water right after eating but rather 30 mins after and/or before meal will help digestion. Water on get up is good (2 glasses), about proteins - yes, you are absolutely right! But who am I to share, this is what I dig so far, I got way more to say on that but Eric Edmeades is the expert on these things. Breathing air, sleeping, drinking water, eating, going out to the sun, movement(exercises), love and affection(I hope I don't miss anything) are the most important things in terms of health.

Make a video on the carnivore diet! There's very little content regarding it out there. I've been trying it out after Iman's sugesstion, but I'm still skeptical regarding it's long term effects.
