I can definitely imagine this is what Pro BG Duos would look like. As it is just way more efficient to focus both players on making one guys board the absolute nuts than having you both splitting and ending up with 2 boards that aren't nearly as strong. You have 1 player as the carry and the other just funneling them resources.

I came back to Hearthstone yesterday after like a 3 month break. Saw they made a new mode and tried it out. I love it! I actually sort of quit Hearthstone in January but this mode is making me want to keep playing the game again.

I played a handful of games without a friend and still had a great time even in a lower MMR maybe I got lucky but I don't see being in a call with my partner as a must

My husband and I love duos! We loved normal battlegrounds but it always sucked when one of us got knocked out and had to wait 20mins for the next game.

I've loved duos so far. There's some bugs that really really need to be fixed, but it's very fun despite that. Me and my friend have been playing BGs since it came out and always wondered if this woul be a thing. Since it came out we've played so much. It's challenging, but it's more fun because of that imo. I love seeing the crazy combos that can be made with heroes. We had a lobby yesterday with a total of 9 N'zoth Fish because they had Nzoth and Faceless on one team (2 fish), a tess who stole both their fish repeatedly (6 by the end), and a rafaam who also stole one. It was insane and so fun to watch.

I really like this mode, even as a solo player. I think it’s an objectively better game than solos, like just more complex and interesting and fun. More replayability, which is my only/biggest problem with battlegrounds regularly

Me and my friend used to play TFT together, we tried duos but went back to just playing together in solos because it was more fun. I imagine if I had a friend who played hearthstone in 2024 they wouldn't want to play duos

My most 'absurd' win in bg's is that I was trying to do the quest where you have to upgrade the tavern so I just didn't get anything and rushed all the upgrades without buying any minions whatsoever. Once i had tier 6 I started getting minions and bc I rushed there I ended up getting first pick of basically everything and built an insanely strong [I think it was demons] setup and I ended up literally taking 1st place. I laughed and was like there's no freaking way that worked.

I feel like Duos exists because Blizzard wants a BG mode they can push a competitive scene for. It is much more suoted to pro play than solo BG is. Also easier to organise games sinxe you only need to organise 4 teams at a time rather than 8 per game.
