I'm a bit late on the Incredibles train and the traffic from this video has already passed, but darnit I've got something to add and i'm gonna add it. The best part about Screen Slaver as a villain is also the worst part about Screen Slaver as a villain. The Screen Hypnosis. Lemme explain. Hypnosis, as we know of it today, does not work like that. Obviously. Yes it's a movie, yes there are supers, yes they have advanced technology in the 60s, but let me monologue here for a hot minute. If the hypnosis displayed in Incredibles 2 DID work the way it does today then that'd take Evelyn's message to a whole new level. Hypnosis as it works today is less "controlling your thoughts and actions" and more "Advanced Suggestion". Meaning, you can only be hypnotized to do what you, or if you're really going deep down your sub conscious, already wants to do. Let's say you want to eat some Ice cream cause it's 102 outside and Florida weather is the worst thing ever, but you don't eat it at the moment because you want to save the ice cream for later, and then let's say I hypnotize you and suggest you eat some ice cream now instead of saving it for later, you will most likely do my suggestion since you already wanted to do in the first place, but let's say I instead suggested you go and chuck the ice cream at an old lady, most people wouldn't want to throw frozen dairy at a harmless old lady, so you wouldn't do that no matter how hard I suggest it, no matter how swirly i make my black and white swirl thingy. It's just not happening. So back to incredibles, let's say again that Screen Slaver's hypnosis is just a really quick version of this advanced suggestion, now instead of the Pizza Guy being forced to fight Elastigirl , he deep down wanted to do that, the helicopter pilot wanted to steal the ambassador, the people WANTED to be slaves to their screens, now her message gets a little but more added onto it. Now it reads "Don't let yourself become inactive, take action if you want to change all the bad things you have going for you *even if you really want those bad thing in your life*" it promotes action to change things we really don't want to and to work towards a future that's better for us all in the long run, even if it means sacrificing our short term comforts and desires. WHY IS SHE THE VILLAIN AGAIN, GEEZ! (This of course though leads to the idea that the supers wanted to rebel and lash out, harm people and threaten the lives of children, EVEN THEIR OWN! But again like I said all the way up there the best part of her character (aka this hypnosis theory) if assumed this way makes it the worst part of not only her character, but probably the whole movie. Idunno, maybe it makes it better in your eyes, there's no accounting for taste and all that yadda yadda yadda. But most importantly DFTBA!

I think the message isn't "You have to be born with powers to be super", and "You should totally be reliant on screens". It seems more like, "It doesn't matter if your power comes through hard work or if it comes naturally, attacking cities and murdering people and kidnapping babies is bad." and "Enslaving the population through hypnosis is also bad.".

Could Jack-Jack beat the Infinity Gauntlet?

Man, this movie is so good. I've already seen it twice. It's one of the best movie sequels I've seen.

I actually went and saw it twice. When you were talking about Screenslaver's monolouge, I did the same as you the first time, I didn't pay attention. The second time however, it really did marvel me how much of that speech is true, even today. Everyone relies on some sort of technology to make their lives easier, most commonly phones and computers.

There’s a difference between intent and a execution. The villains intent was good but the execution proved to be other wise. Syndrome is still a villain because he wants to just be a hero and not do hero things. He puts people in danger so he can appear to be a hero. Evelyn is still a villain because she used the supers and tried to force everyone to see that they cannot be trusted by having the boat crash directly into the city and harming anyone in the way and everyone in the boat. The executions cover up the intentions and at that point the intent doesn’t matter because the damage has been done

Ben: “The answer is...” Me: Ancient Rome Ben: Evelyn Dever.” Me: Oh. That too. No, but seriously the method Buy in Large is using is a method many Roman emperors used. It’s called Food and Entertainment. The philosophy is that if you feed and entertain your subjects, they will be so sedated and at ease that they won’t question why things are run the way they are.

I agree that the villains have good messages, but I don't think they had to be stopped cause they are the villains. They had to be stopped cause they went at it the wrong way. They put countless life's in danger just to make they're beliefs come true, so they are, the villains. 🕵️‍♂️(Please add a like if you agree with me).

One thing I noticed while watching incredibles 2 is that we're presented with three Major supervillians non of which actually have super powers (syndrome Underminer and Screenslaver) all of them use technology create their powers (Underminers kind of debatable but I cite the fact he uses robotic jackhammer gauntlets to fight super heroes as possible evidence of his lack of powers)

When I saw it I forced myself to listen to Screenslaver’s monologue during the suspenseful scene with Helen, and was the whole reason I recognized her to be the villain. When she started taking about “convenience” I was immediately taken back to when Screenslaver monologued about the same thing. I was the only one of my friends to catch that.

I'm finding it annoying how when someone says a Pixar sequel is the best and then people say it's nothing compared to the Toy Story films. The films are great, but I don't get as excited to see them as I do with Incredibles.

The message the villains are trying to spread is good but the way they do it is not. That’s the thing people miss

I noticed a bit of foreshadowing in the movie. Before Elastagirl catches the fake Screenslaver she is talking to Evalyn at the party. Evalyn tells her "I'm the genius behind the genius" referring to her brother and Devtech but it also is an early giveaway that she is the real Screenslaver.

Something THAT I was remembering. Did you guys know in monster's Inc when there's "a kid on the loose" and a monster says "A KID FLEW ABOVE ME AND SHOT HIS LASER BEAMS" what if that was Jack Jack? He floats and he entered that dimension accidentally and shot his laser beams

Absolutely love Incredibles 2. The animation is so...incredible! The way Evelyn moves, the awesome action bits. The water and ice look so real that it's frightening. I just wish Dash had gotten to show off his power a little more. And the fact that The Underminder is still at large is brilliant. This movie has all the things that made the first film so great. It's fun and exciting but also relatable, with a villain whose point of view you can understand. And Evelyn is in some ways the opposite of Syndrome, but in other ways very similar. She's an evil genius like he was, but instead of being stuck in a childlike mindset, she's really jaded and mature

The switching from fear to joy, is that why the monsters in Monsters in Monsters Inc. switched from scaring kids to making them laugh?

I never thought of BnL as a self sufficient AI company. I thought it had a board of directors like most companies. We need a BnL origin story movie.

It'd be interesting if they made a movie about the theory in some way. Like, someone in the Pixar world actually witnessing some of the things happening and trying to look into them.

So... you guys know how in the pixar theory it's stated that the "Monsters" evolved from humans after the events of Wall-E, well what if.... the monster DNA was always there.... from Jack Jack! one of the frequently used powers of Jack jack is turning into a monster, maybe this kid is first of a kind to have transformation powers but then in future his descendants starts evolving..... Sounds kinda cool, right? #incredibles

I watched this movie while sick (no relation to any flashing lights or anything, I'd been sick for a while before the show started), and I'm almost glad I wasn't watching the screen during the Screen Slaver's little monologue (was too busy trying to keep from being sick). It was chilling and honestly felt like something that the Incredibles 2 had crafted to fit this generation of kids watching the movie. (or maybe not. idk I still don't feel like I was able to take in all of it). Can't wait until I can watch this movie a second time to catch anything I missed the first time. Really like how this fit in with the theory as well.

I have a theory regarding a connection between the Incredibles 1 and 2. It is that when Winston’s father went to call the superheroes for help, they didn’t answer only because they became illegal, but because they must’ve been murdered by Syndrome on the island, in order to enhance his robot A.I, like we saw in the first movie. Well, this was my theory, what do you guys think about it?

Why has no one mentioned that The Incredibles is set in the 60s but Incredibles II is based all around screens that wouldn’t have existed til much later ?

Anyways, I was upset that not only did you fail to mention "Spoiler Alert" at the beginning of the video and the proceeded to tell us who the villain is, but at the end you ask if we have seen it. If I hadn't seen the movie already I would stop visiting your channel. Luckily I was smart and watched the movie before this because I love your content. Yes.
