Filipinos like to appreciate n be appreciated. Staring is trying to get attention for interaction. In america i was shocked wt this experience: after dining in a restaurant, i forgot to leave the tips in the table and the waiter run after me outside of the door to ask for the tips payment, worse wto a smile- it was embarassing as she said it loudy. That is worse than the qeue in the pharmacy in my opinion. Further, in america its hard to find people smiling at you wt authenticity. In the phil, its everywhere.thats i dont wish to live in the usa. I agree wt jason that phil is safer than in th US. Here, you dont experience shooting spree in public, even though like in america, filipinos do carry guns too but more responsible. I have been an expat in other countries too, the key of living happily is adapting n harmonizing to local culture. If its very annoying, then you hv to think further n weigh options..

JR answered those questions very honestly in my opinion. I agree the roads in the Philippines would be a nightmare for me to drive as I am not a very good driver myself but since my mother has drove in the Philippines prior to coming to Hawaii and getting her license here she is a really good driver and has barely gotten into severe accidents. Yes service seems to be slower too in the Philippines but the same can be said about Hawaii compared to other states. Yes I would say Filipinos are very caring but it’s amazing that friends would take off just to take care of someone who is sick because you won’t even see that happening in Hawaii!

@@jasonwill5949 not all parts of Ph are slow. I live here in Valenzuela City which is an hour away from Manila. I am originally from Bacolod and I've been and lived in different cities in Ph. Almost everything here is online, esp government transactions. Healthcare here is almost free to extremely cheap. Gave birth to 3 kids and I had ceasarian section, I only paid around 60 USD. Education here is also free and the local govt, gives free bags, shoes, food to elementary public school students. Yes, most parta of the Ph are slow, but filipinos in general deal with it positively. It's a good time to talk with strangers while waiting. That is what I do when I am waiting. This kind of thing is abnormal in western countries coz they have a saying "don't talk with strangers." If one hate the system here in Ph, why stay? Just dont get the logic.

"You lose when you're the first one who says I love you". I think this struck me most about his answers. Generally, here, the guys would be the first ones to say that and the one who loses is the one who let go of true love. Senior citizens, PWD's and pregnant women are given priority here and they have a separate queue.

No, guys, the line for cash out for seniors is not workable. I'm in CDO now. In many occasions it is not open. When the cash is open, several local seniors are sitting there with 2-3 carts full of small packages, because there is discount fot them. It will take much more time, than go thru regular cash. If there are no seniors there, there are regular smart asses sitting there, because line up is shorter. Nobody cares about that. I just dump my 3-4 items there and go out.

While referencing lines, and quirky procedures in places of business I think in the US it's more about efficiency,. People tend to use it as part of measuring the quality of service as they compare one business to another in terms of value. A good business will critique and personalize its service putting emphasis on the customer experience as it relates to the value of their (the customer's) time. It can also be a basic cost-effective competitive way to differentiate a business to win customers over but then again America is a different place. Embracing the flow of the culture and accepting certain aspects related to the various social norms I would imagine is appreciated and shows a level of respect and a willingness to adapt and enjoy the lifestyle and warmth within the community.

Honestly, not really. Prices are high now for many reasons. Unlike before, buying months in advance doesn't really save you any money. My only advice is to buy directly from the airline website and avoid third-party middlemen like flight hub, cheapoair etc. Sure, it's slightly cheaper, but practically impossible to make any changes or refunds or anything through them.

Filipinos in general LOVE gringos...I read somewhere that when prior to being released from being an ill begotten US territory, the population so was enthralled with gringo culture that it was on verge of petitioning for statehood, which spooked the US Govt. Most Filipinos I have found have a 1950s image of the US . The irony of Asia is that more advanced countries now are pursuing Spanish as a second language. The Philippines has rejected it's Spanish heritage and stubbornly sticks in favor of Anglocentrism.

Hmm maybe he will read this and answer these questions. For me personally I appreciate Asian culture many of their way. I would have to agree that Philippinos generally speaking, do stare (more than normal) As mentioned in the recent video and confirmed by Filipinos themselves in the next video. Which will be released in a couple days.

I love Philippines! Is my favourite vacation destination, BUT Philippines is not perfect like some people who live there make it out to be. I will respond a couple of questions where I have a different perspective: - What do you dislike about Philippines? Blackouts (mostly in the province), hospitals too expensive (In Canada is free), too much gossip, typhoon/hurricane, taxis trying to scam you, many branded products (western brands) are more expensive than Canada, watching NBA games very early in the morning. I agree about the lineups, but about the traffic only in Manila is very bad. I forgot a funny one, public washroom, you gotta bring your own toilet paper everywhere you go. - Do you feel safe in the Philippines? If you compare it to the USA of course Philippines is more safer, but if you compare it to Canada of course Canada is more safer. But overall I consider Philippines a safe country. Of all the countries I’ve been only Canada and Cuba are safer, all the rest Philippines is safer.

If people filipinos is the nicest and kindness people in the world and why there is one of the highest crime rate country in the world?and if you observe in any places in the philippines like provinces its not so many foreigners coz philippines is not attractive for foreigners from wages,transportation,etc. Not all things here are cheap but ofcourse a people from western world will think its cheap bec.of there salaries ratio but here ordinary filipinos salaries to buying powers is very far from western world so how can things here can be the same with western world in the prices and if you are poor here you are nothing unlike in a rich country there is govt intervation

You cannot compare the two countries because US is very big with over 330M in population. It is way ahead in terms of economics for a long long time. The population also comprises of mix races from so many countries, in other words multi racial. What's the point of comparing it with the Philippines. Not in the same wavelength. Philippines should be compared with other Asian countries and not with that giant western country.
@benhuber6138

Yes you can compare it.its being compared on safety and loving caring people. Philippines is by far most loving caring people. In usa its more violent and hateful. Economical you are right,no comparison. Philippines is a very beautiful place. That's why I go there every year since 2013.
