Because you hold the notion that "once saved, always saved," do you really believe one can continue living in constant sins and inherit God's kingdom? Salvation belongs to the repentant sinner. Not the deceiver. To say that salvation will be granted to the unrepentant sinner with less rewards, is absolutely false. There is no partial salvation. It's either you are in God's kingdom or out. There is no in-between.

I find that the more I spend time with God and in His word, the more I'm able to resist temptation. I feel like I'm more aware of my surroundings now and can run from enablers easily.

This is so true! I was stuck in repetitive sin for a while. The whole time I didnt have the desire to pray, worship, or even read the Bible. I didnt even have a desire to repent for what i was doing bc i knew it was wrong.. I just felt so distant from God and felt like I couldn't get out of that sexual sin. I finally realized that I had to cut off this person bc he was causing major damage to my life. Now Im taking my christian faith alot more serious than I was and I thank God that I was able to move on and move forward, continuing my walk with christ.

One thing I have found in my life is when I keep sin secret I start to feel “unworthy”. I get convinced that I’m not good enough to be praying or sharing the gospel because it makes me feel like a hypocrite. The biggest lie we can believe is that we have to be perfect to be right with God. God accepts us as we are.

I smoke but I have not made it a secret. Since it is the only bad habit I have I am afraid that if I stop I will begin to think of myself as “perfect” and begin to be boastful and look down on people who still wrestle with some kind of sin. I know this sounds kinda crazy but that’s what I think. So, I say to myself, if I continue smoking I will remain humble to God and everyone. And it may be because I come across some KZfaq “pastors” who seem to be so full of themselves and shake their fingers at everyone else for not being as perfect as they are. That kind of behavior really gets me upset. Anyway I have prayed the God will curd me of my addiction I have to nicotine but it persists. Any suggestions and prayers would help.

I’m also sitting here wondering how much weight to put in this while concept of confessing to someone just for the sake of confession outside of confessing to someone you’ve sinned against in asking for forgiveness. You’ve already confessed it to the Lord and His and acknowledgement and forgiveness is all you need outside of confessing to be offended party. I guess what Mr. Parr is suggesting is to confess also to perhaps receive wisdom, and accountability in over coming ongoing sin???

I had a habitual sin that nearly destroyed me. One day I was listening to a pastor who said you have to love God more than you love your sin. If I truly loved Him I would turn away and get it out of my life. It hit me like a brick. From that day on I got it out of my life and was freed. It was definitely a heart issue.

I just called someone to ask for forgiveness over a secret sin. The conversation went great. Praise be to God. The person also apologized for their part. Crazy how minutes after the convo., I open my KZfaq and this is the first video I see. God is good. Merciful. I feel a ton of bricks lifted off. He continues to heal. We also have to be obedient.

The secret sin took place around 20 years ago, but the Holy Spirit has been leading me for years to apologize. I thank God I finally had that hard conversation which ended up being a comforting conversation. We both went on with life acting like it never happened bc we were so young; but understanding why the sin happened helped me to welcome God’s forgiveness and to ask for forgiveness from the person.

Whenever I'd fall back into sin I knew was wrong, I'd always tell myself that I'll repent later and that forgiveness will always be there. We often abuse salvation in this way and unknowingly dig the hole even deeper, making it even harder to conquer that very sin.

It seems you are not really accepting Jesus Christs work on the cross for complete forgiveness of ALL of your sins. You are free from sin the moment you trust in His work on the cross for remission. Addiction is a persistent, compulsive dependence on a behavior or substance. Its like you never satisfied. Like you I was addicted to mobile phones. I am done with it. But now, I traded it in for another addiction, wigs. I buy wigs all the time. I wasted so much money. Money I can put in church. I don't really need them but every time I see one, its like I got to have it. Always saying I need a better one. I tell God am sorry and won't buy another one, but I do. When I see one, I say, "God help me not buy this." "I don't need it." But, then I buy it anyway. Lord, help me please. I don't want to do this anymore. Its wrong!

One thing I learned is that the guilt, shame and self hatred when we sin is that sin promises us false happiness and tells us that God is not good because He is depriving you of good pleasure. In the case Eve, Satan beckoned Eve to believe that God was withholding good things from her and enticed her to eat the fruit so she could have her true happiness. It is almost like he was suggesting, “Why would God withhold wisdom from you?” Can’t you see He is withholding something good from you?But the truth is God is trying to protect us from these things because He knows it will hurt us, and goes against His character. Sin is like a fake friend that gets you drunk at a party, but totally abandons you. While we will never be free from sin in this life, we should continue to remember that God is not withholding good from us, He wants good things for us and sin gets in the way of that. Stay strong brothers and sisters! We will soon make it home!

I suggest you to read more the Word of God and to have your own time with God everyday, this is the key to be delivered and to be more strong in faith. This worked for me , i’m a 22 year old girl and it was / it is a struggle for me too but it’s true that if we really seek God and read the Bible daily, we have the victory, even if we think that this is too difficult for us but I learned that with God everything is possible. Another thing that is very useful for me is to fast. I know that it seems too hard but I assure you that if we do our job God will do the impossible for us. We can kill the flesh ONLY through the word of God and having a focused day on prayer 🥰 God is faithful , do not surrender! You can win the battle with God! But you have to stay near Him last piece of advice I want to give you is to avoid those situations where you can easily fall into temptation. God bless us

1 John 1:9 changed my life. It wasn’t until I felt so disgusted with myself and I just wanted to please God that I got on my knees confessed my sin to God and that day He cleansed me for good. I've been struggling with a secret sin for years, but I'm terrified to tell my parents because we have a horrible relationship with each other, and I have a strong feeling that they are going to hurt me or make it even worse. I know I need to do it, but I don't know how to, and I feel very conflicted over the fact that my fear of confessing to my parents seems stronger than my fear of the Lord. I've gotten close to telling them (or sometimes they nearly find out), but it isn't enough.

I just testified to someone yesterday that our sins will find us out. We think we’re getting away with things done in private, but there’s nothing hidden that won’t be revealed eventually. PayDay is coming for everything we’ve done unless we repent. And even then, God may still allow us to experience some consequences. I’m asking God to help me to not have any private sins.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Very true, a lot of people continue sinning and keep cashin that blank check of grace… But our sins have earthly consequences if nothing else. Those consequences affect and stay in our lives as well as others. God can forgive us, we may get into heaven, but it might be hell until then for us and the ones we love.

This really hit home. It’s something I’ve been struggling with for a while. I pray and beg God to remove the temptation, the secret sin, from my life because I don’t have the strength to do so. I have opened my door to the enemy thinking I was strong in the Lord but that was my pride. The Bible says if you are steadfast and abide in the Lord the enemy will flee. I try. I really do but by the end of the day I always fail. I’m trying to remember something I learned a while back. HALT! In the face of temptation for it comes when you are weak. Remember! Never let yourself get too Hungry too Angry too Lonely or too Tired. 🙏

I struggled with a secret sin that was formed due to a past relationship. I would research if it was really a sin and when I saw some people said no I continued in it. But after I became saved, this sin made me feel bad. I knew it was wrong. But I was addicted to it and was terrible. Then I had enough. I called out to God, rebuking the devil and the chain I had on me. And I have been set free from that secret sin for almost a year now!!! Hallelujah!!! There have been times where I have been tempted but I resist the devil and he flees just as it says in His word.
