Fun fact about bts when they first debuted big hit there company wasn't a big company they were just starting out so they didn't have alot of money for the videos or props most of the extras in the video are employees of big hit they stared in most of bts videos as people in the background bts and bighit blew up after they debuted the employees and bts members have said they rember shooting these videos because bighit was a big company they worked with what they had

Many people find their humble beginnings with this kind of style cringe but I really love it. Cocky pretentious "experts" who think that you are born ready and super polished / mature as a musician are missing the point and purpose of music and artistry behind it. When I watch BTS old music video, I get elevated and thrilled. I love their hunger, their crazy level of passion, their unapologetic drive and delivery and a fetus rapper Kook, barely 15 here slaps with his confidence and skills something incredibly. All gems I have been enjoying and will continue doing so:-)

It’s not because you can’t dissect the song but like you saw, there are so many doubles and wordplay that folk won’t see or even think BTS can do. Thank you for being their supporter too. Even without cultural or language reference, your breakdowns are on a different level than others I've seen. I'm happy that you are starting the BTS journey from the beginning - the best way to really appreciate the intricacy of their work and development. When BTS introduces themselves in Korean, they'll start off with "Bang Tan...." which is means bulletproof with the hand gesture at the end of MV (and the bow). In Bulletproof II, the reference to being "kings" - coincides with their first featured variety show "Rookie King." The "n-po generation" mentioned in Baepsae is also in the lyrics of Dope. The reference to the "spoon" class was also in Mic Drop's first line. Therefore, N.O., We On and Attack on Bangtan would be next on discography (their second mini album, also featuring Cypher). When you said "language is cool" during Baepsae, it warmed up my heart. I come from a family of writers and linguists of several languages - so I grew up appreciating wordplay and locution. The Korean language is phonetically based (transitioned from the written Chinese), hence homonyms are very common. RM is definitely a master at that and knowing English actually helps by expanding his verbal arsenal. When you said "I'm learning to curse in Korean," your facial expression was priceless..... PS - the instrument you were asking about is Piri (traditional pipe).... which is also mentioned in their later song, Pied Pier...

28:45 You bringing that to life about them being a relief pitcher... THATS WHAT THEY WERE. The only reason they got to finally showcase was as a BACKUP for someone else who did not show up. WOW.. I never caught that line before. This is why BTS's replay value is so high. I can watch their videos all day and not be bored.

"No More Dream" came out in June 2013 and Jungkook, the youngest, was born September 1997 so that would make him 15 by American standards and Jin, the oldest, who was born December 1992, would have been 20 yrs old. Korea uses age reckoning which is the belief that a baby's age starts from the moment of conception. Since the length of a pregnancy can vary babies are considered to be one year old at the time of birth and regardless of when they are born (what month) every person's Korean age goes up a year on January 1st. So, by Korean standards Jungkook was 17 and Jin was 22. I am American and this is my best understanding of how it works...if I am mistaken I apologize.

That is right! You are 1yo whenever your bdate is. And +1 on January 1st and not on your actual bday. Even if your bday is dec31, you turn 2 the next day.

yess knox! i was also vibing to their musics and dont know the meaning behid it. and one day i decided to check to see meaning and messages of every bts' songs. it was mind blowned me, so the whole time their musics is about, self love, education system, capitalism, hardship, social issues. like damnn, i'm more apreciate musics when it has a heavy message rather than just a song who have a funky beats. that's why i love'em more and i hope people know this before they assume it's a teenage girl song nor a shit song. btw love u knox!

You should see them play variety games as if their lives depended on it. (Their show Run BTS is for free on Vlive) EDIT : I can't chose a fave here, I love all 3, they are in my top 100 BTS songs! There's only one thing better than watching Baby BTS and thats watching BTS watching Baby BTS... too funny how much they cringe at themselves. Me... i love the early songs.. even then they had the clear focus on a purpose ... loving your reactions to the guys. 22:06 rapper jungkook is such a legend.. I seriously hope he does some rap on his solo album…. I’ve never seen people not impressed with any of his raps… and he barely started rapping with bts lol Jhope didn’t rap before bts either but he was there for quite a bit before jungkook was and he was only 13 lol he had also never danced and debuted with jimin and Jhope on the dance line even though Jhope had like 7-8 years training and competing in dance, and jimin had 4-5 years of contemporary and hip hop dance training before bts. That’s honestly pretty incredible since he was so young but worked his ass off to have success… and he has never let us down… none of them have!!

Thank you. What I love is how your knowledge of philosophy, literature, art and music history brings you so much pleasure and satisfaction when seeing the compositions of BTS. This knowledge truly enhances the reception of the production. Not trying to sound like a know it all, but when you recognize the complexities and how BTS layers elements to make the message reach everyone on different levels, their genius shines above most other musicians. It is these elements that attracted me to BTS. I am 70, a former English (literature) instructor, and into music starting with the Beatles in the 60's and music of the 70's including Pink Floyd, Queen, and Cream to the 80's ELO and Moody Blues. The 90's were all about heavy metal for me--Metallica and Pearl Jam, STP and Nirvana with plenty of room for MJ. I was stuck there until I discovered BTS via Seven. Like the Floyd, their music is rich in meaning, sound and beautiful visuals beyond the members appearance. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all those into BTS. 👩‍🎤🕺👩‍🎓

WOW I just listened to your "No More Sheep" video & dayuumm, you turnt it up & you tore it up !! SO much truth ! Your lyricism and the rapping is a masterpiece of word play there, you say so much in so few minutes. Honestly did not expect to be so impressed by my first listen to something you wrote/performed & did yourself. It's honestly, imo, far better than 95% of what's out there today. I know from a video I saw yesterday, that you're dealing with some very tragic losses you've recently gone through, that are enough to lay low any human being. I'm so sorry for the pain you're left to try to carry somehow... but i wanted to tell you; keep friggin' going, I do not see how you can fail to gain all you desire in the end if you just keep doing you. I’m so glad that you seem to be enjoying BTS and their discography. They are brilliant artists and I think their music means all the more when you know a bit more about their come up. There’s a lot more to it than just having a lot of trolls. They truly were huge underdogs from the get-go and some of things that people did (industry and fans of other artists) to try and deter their success is pretty unbelievable and horrible when you hear it. I know you’re focussed on the music side but would be great if maybe you could react to an intro vid of them one day. ‘This is BTS’ by xCeleste is pretty short and informative. Just an idea but thanks so much as always!

if you haven't listened to Hip Hop Lover (Hip Hop Phile) by BTS i definitely recommend it - RM, Suga, and J-Hope all list the rappers that influenced them, and have a majority of the song time with the 4 others chiming in for the chorus only. It came out in 2014 on their Dark & Wild album!

Great breakdowns as usual Knox I get ppl just don't want bts abilities ta be missed like the word play n such but I wanted ta say I do really appreciate your interpretations of the songs. n that's why I'm here ta hear your breakdowns not dkdktv necessarily but u still went the extra mile n it's appreciated. n ik alot of ppl will still miss the cultural messages without it. I understand army's enthusiasm. But u do a great job n get so much even with the bad translations and everything your a great reactor n great with breakdowns. Edit I don't mean to sound negative my bad I enjoy dkdktvs explanations n there's alot in bts music that's missed, but I also like getting others perspective on the music as well n Knox does a great job catching the meanjng.

One thing I love about BTS is that they often use their music to comment on society including societal expectations and, to some degree, comment on the politics of the time. It's really...refreshing and just offers one more thing to appreciate about their music.

I just love how they're saying they are bulletproof eg able to withstand the rapid gunfire of the bulletins of hate they got but its a play on their name. BTS in English is 'Bullet Proof Boy Scoots.' I love the layers.
