The thing I really love about damage Jenos is that you can still throw out those clutch spot heals, covering for anyone your main healer can't get to.

Most players use the Binary Star Talent, but in reality it's merely a placebo: Without it Jenos has 885 DPS on his AA and with it he has 900 DPS (More like 860 against 880 DPS if we take reloading time into consideration). That's simply not it. Even in the vid there're multiple examples where Jenos would perform better without the talent (like that midair no hp Androxus kill: you've missed 2 shots before killing him with the last one... With talent that's 1.2 seconds and 1/5th of your magazine, without it that would take you like 4 shots and that would be 0.6 seconds and 1/9th of your magazine) Especially with the Void Grip talent (The Power Cosmeum) being there and completely shutting down both Flanks (especially ones like Koga, Vatu, Maeve) and Tanks (as a Fernando main I despise Void Grip, it's one of the only three things in the game I actually hate since it counters me so hard and reduces my survivability that much). P.S. No likes from Raventric for me, I guess :(

I was looking for a comment like this cause I was kinda confused. I knew binary star doesn't really do anything and was wondering why he said it was so good. I have never played jenos but I definitely agree with you, the void grip talent is better for damage jenos as it can really easily shut down many characters, especially since even if they have just 1 escape ability it may not be on cooldown. So just go for the damage build but with the power cosmeum

@@stevemcfudge thank you! The thing with movement abilities is: you can escape Void Grip only if Jenos doesn't use the talent... With Power Cosmeum Jenos cripples lifted enemies, meaning any movement abilities stop working. That's why it's so dangerous for Fernando (since I can't maneuver my shield or get my 1000 personal shield on activating Charge)... That's the real highlight of the talent for me. I didn't play Jenos much... But with Power Cosmeum I lifted many slippery flanks - and they simply popped, due to their low hp pool, no self-protecting abilities and due to crippled status preventing them from escaping. Also, CC reduction items simply don't work - and that's blatant misinformation. You may spend 200+400+600 - 1200 creds in total (with your total budget for the game being 3800-5000 creds on average - and that's given you're constantly healing/damaging people and standing on the point at the same time) just to counter a single champion in enemy team... And Jenos's lift would still retain half of its duration (which is more than enough to kill you unless you're a Frontline). Those creds would find better use being put into Veteran or Armor Plating.

What you're missing about Binary Star is it's about ammo consumption. It's not about the DPS. You can fire forever with Binary Star. And it increases the value of the card where Stellar Wind gives you ammo back.

1800 damage every 2 seconds is default 1800 is with binary star. i mean its burstier but its damage is the same 360 x 5 or 115 x 8ish slightly lower (technically its 115 x 7.697 a second. so just times that by 2. its 1770 DPS vs 1800) buts its honestly a rounding error at that point. you are probably gonna miss full auto though so it makes you usually more accurate meaning more DPS 360 is 284.4 after haven - 80 damage 115 is - 25 = 90.85 (paladins rounds up) 1420 DPS vs 1398.5449

Hello raven as a suggestion like yea there is binary star for the extra pack of damage but i personally will always play lumi but you can work around the cards to max the ammo count making him have 45, items i would love to choose chornos as im still having a heal build sentinel and guardian to buff the shield up and trigger scent getting the sudden damage increase and shield being flanked has saved my hide more then enough times from just the random elims. i find that play still being a hybrid healer/dps is quite fun. and 100% agree cripple jenos is a terrible talent easy to counter the only reward out of it is what you showed in the vid but not most of the time when yea lift there is normally no one around. Hoard is kind of waste of an item with out a 5th item slot. and you'd think going into season 7 so late that would of been one of the life changes for the game. 20 items with 4 to pick makes it feel very limited now. but great vid over all jenos is my main and love your thoughts on him.

I will say, I have a pretty nasty power cosmeium build BUT it’s HUGE drawback is that you need to have at least one person on your team focusing on the people you lift, with falling star 5 giving you 100% reduced cooldown if enemy is killed within 4 seconds of grip being enabled. When I have a buddy with me who’s playing damage (or just focusing on lifts with anyone really), every squishy is grabbed raised and killed, and then so is every one else who is near because i immediately get it back if they die within 4 seconds.

Cripple lift is what I usually run, in fact it's part of my main healing build. Thing is, you can't commit to it, and spam it, because yes it gets countered by unbound. But take the 80% cooldown reset for elims after lifts, combined with max heal cooldown, and use the lift sparingly, only to secure kills. Be stealthy about it. Often times, enemies don't buy unbound. Once they buy all 4 items, you can go wild. But most importantly, as long as you have the max heal cooldown card, you can still pretty much operate as a normal full healer Jenos, just without Luminary and some extra heal duration. And when it works as intended, that 80% reset allows you to spam out more heals than normal. Most importantly, you can chain lift enemy after enemy, and it's oh so satisfying. Been running Binary Star recently though, with max self heal, and it's probably even more incredible. Just saying the cripple lift definitely has its place though! My Binary Star build can't double as a main healer build, for example.

At the start of the round I pick Luminary, then sit on the "change loadout" screen til after the match starts, and switch to the cripple. This is the #1 thing that lets you go undetected with the cripple.

Back when I actually played this game like 4 years ago I one tricked jenos and idk what it was but I would just roll people with Binary Star. Everyone I played with said it was terrible and then stopped talking after I got double their damage lmao. But yeah he's super fun cause very high mobility, self-sustain and consistent damage even if you don't pick binary star.

So I just returned to paladins After probably about 5 years? And I don’t remember anything. Played a ton of jenos when I started and furia when she dropped. Wondering if anyone has any tips or recommendations regarding new mechanics, new characters, etc. I loved playing jenos and furia and occasionally mixing it up with Tyra. Like I said lookin for some tips and maybe some folks to play with.

Yah I've been playing flank io solo que for 300 levels and it's brutal having 80% of my teamates just expecting me to sit there and heal them on point. Not only is every character more fun to flank with but if it's done by the whole team they are the usually the team that ends up on top. I just consider myself a thrower and accept it by now. I'll let the kids laugh at my stats while I continue to have fun

Amazing video as always ❤ Just one thing I thought I'd mention for those looking to nab Raven's loadout, Astral Cycle is unfortunately bugged and actually doesn't increase the duration of his mark... at all. Hopefully it's one of the 60+ bugs that get fixed in Banners Fall, but for now invest those points into something else like Void Grip range or smth 😅

Meh, I still prefer my Deep Root Grover. Why stop just one enemy when you can stop three and turn them into mini-grovers for your flanks, all while staying with your tanks, providing some actual healing and damage without needing to reload, all at the same time ?

Deep Root Grover is just damage Grover in disguise. but like worse.... since you get a whole 100 healing per second on the deep root pools :( and no bonus damage scaling.

@@aqua__owoThe bonus damage scaling of Ferocity only makes the max damage go from 750 to 945 (source : the official wiki)... Only a 195 damage increase at max range, meaning at mid-ranges, the increase is imperceptible. Meanwhile the Criplling Throws deals invariably 425 damage, and with Deep Root, one throw hits two more targets, which is a possible extra 850 damage per use of the skill. On a 7-seconds-max cooldown. Hell, even if you "only" hit a second enemy, it's an extra 425 damage. Much more than Ferocity's pityfull extra 195 damage (at max range, mind you). And DR stops multiple enemies in their tracks. And it provides some healing too. So no, I can tell you from experience I deal more damage with Deep Roots (while getting MUCH MORE utility) than with Ferocity on average, simply because of the damage of the Crippling Throw is literally multiplicated thanks to it bouncing to different target. Oh, and Ferocity can't hit enemies hiding behind corner like Deep Roots can. Deep Roots is eons better than Ferocity at dealing damage, surprinsingly. And you could even argue that it's better at healing than Rampant Blooming, since it doesn't require you to waste your escape ability.
