Who doesn't love Nutella? We sure do! But Italians do a lot more with this hazelnut/chocolate spread than just eat it out of the jar (although they do that too, as Eva's hospital records will prove).
Today, Eva is sharing some of the ways Italians cook and eat Nutella, plus a simple recipe for making homemade Nutella that's WAY better than what you'll find at the store.
If you enjoy this video, please give it a thumbs-up and subscribe to the channel!

Nutella crepes are amazing. But living in Italy, I find that a Nutella filled piadina is just INCREDIBLE. I don’t know if it’s the saltier dough or the fact that it’s thicker, but the taste of piadina con Nutella immediately takes me back to my childhood

In the late 80's I sent my kids to school with Nutella sandwiches for lunch. It wasn't that well known in the US yet, so the other kids thought that I was the weirdest mom for letting my kids eat chocolate sandwiches for lunch. I'm from Germany, it's normal there.

Had a similar story as Eva’s but did not end up at the hospital. While traveling across Italy as a 12 yr old with my uncle, he bought a 1 litre sized jar of Nutella hoping I’d get sick from over eating and quit my addiction. It didn’t work 🤨 and I finished the whole jar! 😅

I make my own Nutella too! So good. It is one of several nut butters I make. I like to layer Nutella and one of the nut butters - peanut, cashew, almond, etc, - so each spoon or knife full has bit of each. One thing I do not add coconut oil or the soy lecithin. I just pour off or stir in any oil that has separated in the jar. 😊😊😊😊

Often in the world, when people ask in general what are the most famous Italian products in the world (especially food products), they usually answer... pizza and spaghetti (no one mentions Nutella !). But I among the most famous Italian products in the world, I would put Nutella in the first place. Maybe people don't mention it because, let's say so, since many people grew up with Nutella, they almost consider it a product of their home, a very familiar product, and almost forget that it is an Italian product.

Crepes are also on every street corner in Greece. With nutella, and a bunch of other stuff too, both sweet and savoury, so you can build your own as you like it. My favourite combination of nutella has always been with feta cheese. That's how I eat it at home, a piece of cheese slathered with nutella. I've always wanted to get one at the crepe place too, but it's a bit weird and I was embarrassed to ask. Only when I was pregnant, when all food weirdness is excused, did I gather my courage and ordered a feta/nutella crepe. It was delightful.

The first time I had Nutella was in Belgium. I'd never even heard of it before. It was wonderful. When I got back to NY I bought some here and it wasn't even remotely the same. The US version is super sweet, more of a chocolate spread than a hazelnut spread. After that I started buying imported Nutella from either the UK or Italy (I had some in Canada, and even that was better than the US version), which were far closer to what I had in Belgium. Expensive but worth it. Then I discovered that Aldi has their own version which is just as good as the imported stuff for a fraction of the price. Seriously, the difference is night and day compared to US Nutella.
@bekahw8704

Everyone I know thinks it's too sweet in the US. I suspect they do it because sugar and palm oil are cheaper than hazelnuts & make better profit margins. It's so much better in Europe. Lidl has a great version too.

We call "hazelnuts" filberts. They grow in Oregon and my father always had a bowl on the table with a variety of nuts, mostly walnuts, almond and filbert with a handy nutcracker nearby. When I first heard of Nutella, I was confused by this wonderful "hazelnut" spread. Once I figured out it contained filberts, I expected it to be great, as filberts were my all-time favorite nuts. Was disappointed by the Nutella, as it was too sweet with only a slight nutty taste. Eva's homemade version with minimal sugar sounds so much better than the store-bought kind. Great video!

Crepes are soooo easy and fast. Very runny batter and skin coat on a well buttered rounded edge frying pan. Trick to flip them: Put a lightly buttered plate on the pan and flip. Then slide the crepe back into the pan starting at the outer edge. Makes the whole thing less frustrating.

Good morning. I love Nutella. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t like it. Other than eating it straight the one other way I had this is in a crepe. There is a grocery store near me called Mariano’s. They have a section that makes a variety of crepes. A Nutella crepe is divine. I think I’ll go there right now.

I gave up Nutella when I started eating a low carb diet. Now I can make a low carb version sweetened with my favorite zero calorie sweetener erythritol. Thanks Eva!

Nutella pizza is a real thing Harper. Here in Montreal all authentic Italian restaurants have it on their dessert menu. Eva was not lying.

Thank you Eva for the Nutella recipe!!! I'm going to try it this week. If you want yours to be as smooth as the original, use a Vitamix. :)

A vitamix is worth its weight in gold. Which is why they're so pricey. The company knows they're worth their weight in gold.

Nutella pizza!!!! I was a little confused as to whether the crepe was crap or crap was on the crepe. Just joking. You guys are brilliant, thank you for your entertaining videos.

Woah, really nice to know sweet pizza is actually a thing in Italy (or at least Nutella pizza)! I’ve always heard people saying it was more of a local adaptation here in Brazil (sweet pizzas are quite common here) so it’s good to see they’re wrong!
