The best part is that it's an actual moment from the stream, not something Doug said off the cuff, and I'm imagining not that many people who didn't watch Shufflemania decided to watch the stream about the behind the scenes of Shufflemania. So either chat is pretending to be shocked or the brain rot has lead to chat being unable to remember things from a few days ago.

I think I remember Doug mentioning that the players were told that Jerma being the Shuffler was the big surprise reveal at the end, just so that they would all act appropriately socked when he emerged from the box rather than any of them spotting him as he got in and inadvertently spoiling it. Of course, knowing that surprise twist meant they were expecting the _real_ surprise twist even less!

Throughout the show I was like "That doesn't feel like an AI" but then afterwards it was like "Yeah thats probably just AI" and it kept switching between believable and "there's no way an AI would just ask for a smoke" it was perfect... I did think the voice was just Doug's but put through a filter though...

as a comp sci student now working in theater, the concept of shufflemania was really interesting when I heard about it! getting everyone together for, practically, a suped up dougdoug stream was a great conceit itself, but the idea of adding an ai into the mix as a sort of extra commentator was intriguing, if not a little perturbing, knowing what ai is capable of right now knowing what ai is capable of at the moment, however, broke the illusion the moment the shuffler started responding to everyone in the room lol
