Yes, Record, Record, Record Yourself to Improve! 💪Learning needs to be independent. People over-estimate the importance of the teacher and under-estimate the importance of their own checks and balances with themselves. I find more and more that folks just need the right methods to check on their improvement themselves in order to learn super quickly. Thanks for that content. 🙏

I’ve been singing for about 6 months now, and this gives me hope for the future! Even though I am a professional trumpeter playing for about 11 years, sometimes I forget how long progress can take. Gotta learn to enjoy the journey ;)

Exactly! :) The fact that you are already playing an instrument for such a long time will be super helpful. 🙌

Took about 15 years for me, and I am still learning. Also, not sure if I would call myself "great" yet.

How did you deal with the frustration?

@@amirrjk6934 it was hard tbh. But you know what got me over the hump? Singing songs that were within my range and doing them as best I could. At first, I abandoned my mixed voice and only sang songs in chest voice, which for me, only reliably goes up to G4. Eventually, I started losing my voice with that approach. So I went back to using my mixed voice and still sang songs up to about G4. My voice improved and I slowly was able to increase my range. I am still not there yet, but I can sing songs like "Sweet Child of Mine" and sound good. (Top note is E flat 5) The ultimate test will be when I can sing "Man in the Box" with my mixed voice and sound powerful. Just keep working on mixed voice but really get good at it in your middle range. For me that is somewhere between C4 and G4. Be patient, and the high notes will come!
