Hi Allison! Thanks for this interesting Q&A, although you’re very busy right now. I really appreciate your consisting uploading of those great video every week. But please, don’t stress yourself that much. Don’t get me wrong, I really really love your videos and it makes me always happy to see that a new video of you is up, but you seemed a little bit stressed and rushed in that Q&A. So please take care of yourself. I think your community will totally understand, if you’re not uploading that much right now because you have to put all your energy in your thesis and when not working on it you need to rest. So please don’t feel obligated to keep the uploading schedule and do what’s best for you and your health. People will understand. I’m sure of it. I hope this doesn’t come as off. All the best for your and your thesis (I know how stressful that time can be) and take care 🤗

It was so wonderful to hear you speak Japanese, I'm embarrassed to say, but I got a little teary-eyed. I'm 65, 1st generation, born in Japan and been in the USA since 1963 and never had the right opportunity to go back to visit. FYI, I subscribed today for the reason that you seem to be a very sweet young lady. Good luck to you and enjoy life!

I’m coming to Japan from the UK, on the JET programme this July 😊 I’m so happy to be coming back to Japan. I studied abroad in 2018-2019 before Covid times and miss Ikebukuro so much. It’s my first stop before orientation. Need to meet up with an American friend who lives there.

I enjoyed wandering around the Prince Shinigowa Station and area. I stayed at their hotel, shopped at the shops in that area. Also went to Hakone. It’s lovely there.

Im looking forward to my move to Japan. I see some black expats in Japan mention the discrimination is much different from discrimination elsewhere. One person said it was a breathe of fresh air.

Asakusa in Tokyo is SO OVERRATED! And definitely a Tourist Trap! I think Takeshita-dori still worth it, specially for the food 😋

Do you find there’s an age discrimination for studying in Japan? I’m not sure if that question makes sense….say you’re in your 30s, would people find it unusual if you were going back to university or trying to find a new job?

Yes and no 😂 In Japan it’s normal to do all the school you want at once before you enter the workforce, so even when I told my coworkers I was going back to school (after only working 2 yrs) they thought it was so strange 😅 But if you’re foreign you get a pass anyway on weird stuff 🧍‍♀️ I wouldn’t worry about it, I have classmates in their upper 20s and 30s too!
