@@ATCA I'm sure they are, as long as your happy. Who cares what other people think. It would be cool to just see an spl comparison. I did get that ct sounds at3000 you recommended, definitely made a huge difference. Just trying to figure out which overlap setting I want to stick with.

@@isidrosevier1125 I already tried the sundown 6.5s vs the ct 6.5s. Out of all 5 6.5s, I liked the sundown the least. They cost the most and they're the only ones that actually bottomed out.

You won’t be very impressed with 4 sealed 8s 2 ported 8s would sound much better

Thats what I'm trying to hit is atleast a 140db at about 35 to 40hz in my truck. Can't decide on 2 beefy 8s like 2 sundown x8 v4s or 2 dd 2508Gs vs 4 smaller 8s like the rage 8s or sa v3 8s. I figured 2 beefy 8s would get loud an deep as well as hit them lows and the 4 smaller 8s having more cone area would be little louder like maybe 2db louder but not sound as deep and low as the 2. I plan on running around 3k maybe salt 3 or a DD M series 2500 amp

@johnnypiper1717 Man, if you can get four DD or Rampage 8s in there, that would shake that truck. My two hit nice, and I'm not feeding them all they can handle.

@adaboy4z I bet your rampages to hit hard and low. Those subs hit lows good and clear. Who built your box you happen to know how many cubes net it is?

@johnnypiper1717 Ordered from GP audio and its 2 cft tuned at 33hz. They build to spec, but MBE probably has a better enclosure. I ordered the flat pack and put it together myself, and added black roll on lining.

Yes. This setup has an awesome bandwidth! Lord it plays low! It does crazy stuff to my interior in the 20s hz

I don’t have a ford but in my experience driving BMW hybrids with 2x 12” subwoofer the car held up fine to the vibration. Even in my 2001 Chevy Silverado it seemed to hold up OK. If the subs did use up any extra power from my hybrid battery it was not very noticeable range wise, although my battery may be bigger because it is a plug-in. Also, I do listen to a lot of podcast nowadays vs loud music all the time like I used to so I’m not sure if that would drain more battery.

@@ATCA appreciate that! I’ve always ran crescendo bass clefs at .5 no problem just didn’t know if the ct sounds amps would be okay with it but factoring in box rise I’m sure it’ll never see under 1 ohm regardless. Appreciate the information and love the videos!

Nice what you got your 2508Gs in a truck? How big is your box do you have them in atleast 1cube net per?

1.25 net per on the 2508’s and you’d be over 140 easy.. 2.5 net for two is a pretty common spec for those in the custom box world.. You didn’t say where you metered at first hrz.. but if seen many hit over 140 on same setup as low as 28hrz at 2.5 net tune to 33.. im personally a fan to tune 6.5’s and 8’s closer to 30-31 myself and then go little small on the box cause it keeps them a little more musical wo giving up the lows.. but plenty of people rocking well over 140 on a pair of 25’s at 2.5 33

@fishrrelaxing9361 that's what ima gonna do is get close to 2.5net with my custom box. Builder told me he hopes I'm under powering them putting them in that big of a box.

My 1st choice has always been those Dzd 2508Gs they look so bad ass and I know they sound awesome, but I can only run 2 maybe 3 max since they are little bigger then normal 8s and need more port area. Do you think I'd be that much louder and deeper going with the 4 8 setup or it wouldn't be that much of a difference but like 1 or 2 dbs possible if I ran the 2 2508 super charged in a 2.5cu box with 40 sq in of port area? I wanna get as loud as I can but also sound good. I'm more into 33hz on up like mid 30hz. I know those 2 dds would slam but if 4 other subs would sound jus as good and outperform the dds I might go that route.

@@jonathanlarsen4771 too big and too low. Not well. They can handle lower tuning in a smaller box. They need a good ratio to be stable. Originally I modeled them in a .75 at 32 and it was not good. Going up to .75 at 39 is where it's loudest and .5 at 34 is where it's lowest. This box is .66 at 36 and it's a wonderful middle ground!

Hmm I seen one meso 8 in a cubic ft box at 32 hz, that's why I was wondering how 3 would sound in 3 cb ft, that 1 posted a score of 131 db

I have used probably 80% of the different brands out there. I do comparisons all the time. I go back to CT because of what they offer for the price I pay. Its hands down the best bang for the buck.

Trevor do you think the Strato or Meso is better than Alpine Type R for sealed subwoofer box?
