This video is coming in at the most perfect time for me... Because of rom-coms, fairytales and social media, I’ve created this mindset of “but if this person likes me enough, then he wouldn’t be able to not be with me. he would be with me right here, right now and nothing else will matter”, but that’s not the case always. every person is their own little Universe and sometimes people need time to heal and to deal with things like Louis did in the beginning of your story. Raya, I respect you for not giving up (many people are too proud to feel like they are “chasing” somebody around), giving him time and space (even though it can be super hard) and just trusting your intuition as it is telling you that this person is worth the wait because you do have this unique connection that is so rare and special. I guess this is exactly where I’m at right now. doing my things, being on my own, praying and believing, trusting that everything will fall into its place, and I have to stay patient, but without trying to force and control the situation too much. My husband and I went through a similar thing. He’d never been in a long term relationship and when we first started bickering as normal couples do, he backed out and broke up with me. I waited patiently for him to come around because I fully believed we were meant to be together. It was so hard though and took an emotional toll on me. After we got back together I was always waiting for him to leave again. Now we’ve been married for almost 3 years and our relationship is amazing. I remember all of these vlogs, and I remember the whole China trip and the Cuba trip and Dave third-wheeling though Cuba with you both (which I thought was weird) at the time. I knew that having Dave there (nothing against Dave) but that certainly put a dampener on the relationship for sure and I knew that you guys were good for each other and knew that Louis was hesitating in committing himself to a relationship (always thought) that Louis was a little emotionally immature but in a more innocent connotation rather than a malicious way but still, I feel that he should have been (or) it would have been good if he was more aware of the emotional repercussions of this - "non-relationship". I think this is so important. One would think from all types of media that you're supposed to know right away that you love your partner or are sure of your relationship and when you don't feel that you think it's wrong and end it, when really it could be completely normal for YOU and your partner and actually you just are going through normal phases of a relationship.

Not easy to put your story out there! But glad you both did it! CONGRATS Raya - you hung in there and gave Louis the space he needed.. and I know that was difficult beyond what one could truly imagine.. difficult indeed as every day of your life was ticking away.. and so glad that the way the story unfolded then was the realizations he had that led him to make the ultimate commitment which he felt confident about and would uphold not only for you, but also for himself.. because he was finally ready and that meant something so important to him perhaps in ways that it didn't before.. It took some time, and I know of other stories where the wait did not manifest into anything, and left one or both in pain for years that followed or a life time .. some waited a life time and left this world without finding fulfillment in the relationship they wished that lasted.. while others regret they didn't wait long enough as they now see their once lover having 'evolved' into a finer version of themselves ... I'm not advocating to wait longer than one's heart indicates, rather to say, that the heart / conscience does not lie .. when its time to move on and we should per the 'divine design' then as difficult as it might be, we ought to move on.. and when its urging us to hang on and supporting us on that difficult journey, then perhaps we should hold on tight on that bumpy ride ahead.. the key is connecting to the 'universe' within or in simple terms ones heart and letting it guide oneself.. not always easy for all, I know.. Its truly a beautiful, painful heart-breaking, crazy, educational, mesmerizing, mysterious world we live in, at the physical, mental, emotional, and the unseen levels .. and this drama of life is continuously teaching us more about ourselves as we allow it to .. 😀 😁 😂 🤣 Happy for you both!!

right now i am in a situation where me and this guy are dating. Now i am seeing your love story i dont know what to do with mine. He told me he intitially wasnt looking for a relationship, but was suprised how much he liked me. He told me he wants to be serious with me and persue a relationship. I'm curious, was it strange to be pursuing someone who was revered by so many viewers for having such a great energy/outlook on life, yet be almost "deficient" in the area of romance? This was followed b a whirlwind back and forth year, because he was still dealing with his fears and it lead to the point where I was ready to completely break it off. Raya that is so true. My boyfriend (now husband) told me he wasn’t sure if we should continue dating since he was going to start school halfway across the country. I was shocked. I did everything I could to show him that I was the “right girl” for him. I was depressed at the time and in nursing school, but I practiced piano everyday for an hour because he was a musician and I took weight loss pills. Like you, I assumed what he’d wanted. However, he was like woah, I am not ever going to find a woman like this who cares this much about me. He told me he was crazy for ever thinking of ending the relationship. He also told me to stop doing those things because he knew it wasn’t for me and I was doing it for him. Crazy how things work out. We are very happy now with a family 🥰sometimes it’s worth the struggle but also I think it’s okay if things don’t always work out. i’m just glad it did for us ❤️

Honestly, I still don't get how women can go through such similar experiencies. Well, it's not hard to understand really but it still fascinates me. I ALWAYS feel like some of my worst insecurities come from comments other people make about me, mostly men, and mostly comments that are not made with such intent. I feel you Raya so much! I honestly have never talked about it but hearing you say such things, makes me feel a whole lot better! At least we are not the only ones and I feel other women feel the same way. It makes me sad to think we can put ourselves down for such minimal things, but I also think it is what makes us so strong. :')
