Sensational performance. The first two goals were fabulous. Those two and the Højlund opener away at Copenhagen were really great. Finally saw the Rashford - Shaw combination and Højlund's movement to the near post was deadly. That's what you want from your ST. Also, the play were he held up the ball (which we think he doesn't do well enough apparently), took touches and played a lovely throughpass to Bruno but he couldn't execute the pass to Garnacho in tons of space on the right. 1st half was really great. Good chances created through passing and deadly counter attacking. I also think we defended really well from large parts. Lisandro made so many crucial interceptions. His positioning is elite!! One more strong CB and a winger who could play in both wings is needed. Really impressed.

Dalot shooting from 25 yards right before the 1st or 2nd Wolves goal was so frustrating. We were under constant pressure and he wasted our possession in their final third with such a low% attempt. We need to get better at keeping posession when we're under pressure

That's fucking mental that Rashford and Shaw hasn't started on the LW this season before this game. I could have sword they must have before Shaw was injured. Hopefully having Shaw there can get the best out of Rashford for the remainder of this season. He sure played well yesterday.

Aj, k genuinely think Ten Haag watched your pre match analysis, a lot of what you said should be done were seen and led to goals and improvement all round: 1. Extra body in second phase of possession (said long ago) 2. Slow the ball down from midfield and reduce aggressive attacks. 3. Hojlund back to goal play. 4. Overlapping and underlapping full backs. You could pass for a prophet!

Anthony honestly needs to leave in the summer

I don't know if you noticed AJ but Garnacho was actually one of the players rotating in the midfield. I saw Varane in there at some point in the game, I saw Licha in there as well at some point. Meaning we had about 6 players rotating in midfield. Which made it very hard for Wolves to track and press us in the midfield, hence our better possession in this game.

It shows what the team can do when the majority of first 11 players are available. The unfortunate downfall is the lack of strength on the bench, and they really came back in to the game because of the drop off in quality. United in that first half was by far the best performance in some time. Antony when he came on was genuinely awful. Again.

Clearly he didn't lose the dressing room . The first 11 is decent but the bench players are completely useless. As soon as the players returning from injury were tired and had to be subbed then it was a shit show

I thought Bruno's passing was off at vital moments. The ballooned pass that should be have been along the ground to Garnacho in the middle, the over hit straight pass meant for Hojlund that should have been curved towards him. Even the 2nd freekick for Casemiro's header was delayed by a fraction of a second which caused Casemiro to go offside. His slice of a shot in the first half played with the outside of his foot when inside of the foot would have matched Rashfords goal and the poor first touch which led to his second half chance to be smothered. Plus, he was wabing the defenders forward for the corner that led to Wolves 3rd goal.

Less injuries more players to work with

Also, if we do go for one more midfielder in the summer, who should it be? A no. 8 or a cover for Casemiro (as he clearly can't play 90 mins with full energy let alone playing every game). Also, should Mainoo play as a no. 6 or a no. 8 or a hybrid between both as he did yesterday? Because that really influences who should we bring in next in the midfield. Should it be like a tenacious box to box midfielder like Fede Valverde or a holding midfielder (I just want Bruno to stay higher up and have the freedom and range of passing he had today!).

We are awful at set pieces. Every time the other team gets a corner I get so nervous. But also when we get a corner. We are way over committed. And Bruno stinks at taking free kicks. Onana has to be benched. Antony needs to be sold.
