Evolution sent me their 18V 8Ah battery to carry out a comparison with the 4Ah battery that I already had. I cut 4" x 2" timber with fully charged batteries using the R185SMS-Li until each battery is flat. I was extremely impressed with the performance of both batteries!

Thanks for taking the time to make this video Russ. Great to see that cordless Evolution saw smashing through the 2x4" nails and all. Even given a bit of blade blunting that 8aH performed like a champ. You'd need to be throwing some work at that saw to drain an 8aH on site during a day.

Cheers Simon, I was very impressed with both batteries. Unfortunately, I do not have anything to use as a benchmark, but it seemed like a lot of work for both the 4 anf 8Ah batteries. I was certainly completely fed up of cutting 4 x 2 by the time I finished! :-)

Don't think I would want to carry an 8ah on a handheld tool but seeing the 4ah go through that much material is phenomenal.

I have invested in the Ryobi 18V range. But they've gone and spoilt it by having a 36V range and the batteries are very pricey. Although it seems like the 36V range is more for the "power user" (boo boom).

I was impressed with these Evolution batteries although I haven't got anything else to compare them to! :-)

Great demonstration Russell. Considering the price of each battery the 8Ah is marginally cheaper per cut so to speak but having both the Vac and the saw I am happy with the performance of 2 x 4Ah. Keep up the reviews 🙂
