Man, the AI behavior of those troopers was atrocious. I mean, the AI is usually pretty stupid, but holy shit, those dipshits running away and cowering in tents as soon as the fighting starts... smh.

they even state that they could take him down, but the higher ups are having them fortify and stretch outward, which only aids the Legion in getting their foot in the door while whittling their numbers down. also Obsidian made New Vegas, not Todd.

That’s half the point of New Vegas. Most problems in the Wasteland could be solved by a half well run state supported by basic infantry. The NCR can’t even manage that.

@@Tommy-sr7hl yes but they’re evenly matched only because the NCR is so trash at using what they already have. They canonically would lose the Dam which is a concrete entrenched position to mooks with machetes which is insane. A few fixed machine guns should stop the whole Legion advance lmao

Because game mechanics aren't always an accurate representation of the lore. For starters there's a lot more NCR and Legion forces in the lore than there is in the game, Hanon himself there was at least 50 rangers available for the Battle of Hoover Dam but we don't see even half that amount. Another thing is the guns and weapons of both factions would kill each other pretty quick there wouldn't be any tanking outside of Veteran Rangers and NCR Heavy Troopers.

Displacer Fists are one of the most BROKEN Weapons in the game, they will rock your boat even in Power Armor. i'd say that the only thing stronger than the Displacer Fist is the Fist of RAWR.

So you dont even need full centurion(80 ppl) of NCR troopers to do this job... And those are just troopers, get some rangers on the job and... Fort is down. Kinda a let down tbh

Half the amount of legionaries can take Hoover Dam before the actual final quest starts. If it were an actual quest set piece, there would be many many more legionaries.
