It's because of the way balls fit into a space he assumed the balls would fill in a grid formation not to mention it would be somewhat random. Second there are seats curved surfaces etc, not to mention the outside dimensions won't match the inside dimensions especially considering the room underneath the bus wouldn't be filled with balls.

he delivered a pretty acurrate result out of absolutely zero information he was by far the smartest in the video...the answer is never about how close you got to the real number but the process of thinking. One question that it has been made to me in an interview was how many doors exist in the city of Lisbon...it’s a similar process of what this guy did. First you think how many people exist in Lisbon, then you estimate 3 people for each house meaning that you have 3 times less houses than the number of population you guessed at, then you think of how many doors it exists in one house, let’s say for a house of 3 we would have about 5 doors, two rooms, one bathroom, kitchen and living room...you would multiply 5 for the number of houses you had determined before and there you go you’d have an answer that would certainly be wrong because you have no real data to start with but the process of thinking is right and the only answer that actually is correct...if you had just guessed the right number of doors in Lisbon without any explanation your answer would be wrong.
