Soccer in the U.S. has not always had the best track record. Its popularity wavers and interest is usually tied to significant events, such as the World Cup or the Olympics. Major League Soccer has spent over 25-years trying to change soccer’s sentiment in the U.S. while competing with more fast-paced, high-scoring sports like the NFL and the NBA.
Over the last ten years, the MLS has become increasingly popular. The league garnered the attention of top talent, brought in significant investments, and generated a massive presence on social media. Good points, but as a soccer dad here in America, the pay threshold hold here is high. At the competitive level, my son is the only black player on his team, let alone Hispanic.

It’s never going to happen. The NFL and NBA will always be the biggest sports league here in America. Basketball is the most played sport in America and the NFL crushes its rating. It’s in the American culture it wont change

5 days ago boston talked more soccer than NBA. The reason MESSI that is on legendary level of MARADONA ,PELE, MICHAEL JORDAN, schumacher..etc etc the besties on their sports!! A big reason why USA is talking about soccer!
