In this video, we'll present Morocco Al Borag Train, the fastest train in Africa, which operates at a maximum speed of 320 kmph. Investment in africa by country ist at all time high. With a growing reputation as nation that delights in spending heavily on infrastructure and record setting projects, the extravagant nation of Morocco disbursed vast sums of money for the construction of the "Al Baroq" - Africa's first ever superfast bullet train.
Africa's 6th largest economy signalled its intent to stimulate its economy by the construction of the Al Boraq, Africa's fastest train. The engineered phenomenon was inaugurated in Morocco by King Mohammed VI and Emmanuel Macron, the French president in November 2018. The construction of this high speed rail had been brewing for close to a decade and finally came to completion 7 years after inception. The $ 2.4 billion project was funded by loans acquired from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, The UAE and France, which provided about 50% of the total sum invested.
The Al Boraq shuttles between the Northern Moroccan city Tangiers, and the administrative capital of Morocco, Casablanca, two of the Nation's most dynamic cities. The bullet trains commutes at a maximum operational speed of 320 km/h (198 mph), covering a 350 km distance between Tangiers and Casablanca. The 4 hour 45 minutes conventional train ride is reduced to a 2 hour duration ride in the Al Boraq. The optimum operational speed of the Al Boraq is twice the speed of the second fastest train in Africa, South Africa's high-speed Gautrain, which operates at a top speed of 160 km/h (99 mph) and links Johannesburg, Pretoria, Ekurhuleni and OR Tambo International Airport.
