I imagine the reason why it isn't as expensive to renovate as people expect, its because there weren't any major structural renovations. That's what would cost the most money in any reno

Hi! We also have a 4600 sqft log home. We haven’t been in it a year yet and love it! An idea for the “poles” in the basement - split logs in half , hollow them out inside and fit them around the ugly poles! We did that and love it! We wanted our basement to have a feel of log home also so that’s one way we did it. We live on almost 7 acres, had our old house demoed and built our log home on top of that! Before the build started we had an old barn on our property. We had the work/build done for us. We love love love the end result. We still have landscaping, paving to do outside. We live in NE Ohio in the middle of Amish country. Love your channel!

@@thriftytxmom I brought that up in the first video and I think it hurt his views because it sounded like he was bragging and when he said rich people owed it when everything about it was done So cheaply and much of what he is doing is being cheaply done also. And mansion is considered a house over 5 thousand square feet. But in the end I think he hurt himself by saying what he did in that first video. He should’ve just said he got a really nice cabin that needs a lot of work. His parents probably help him and his brother get this place. I couldn’t see him getting this cabin finance on his channel alone he doesn’t get enough views for that. And I have noticed that he stop calling it a mansion these last couple videos. He must of figured it out.

Thank you. THANK YOU for answering the questions that everyone has been asking! Now we have a much better idea how (1) you got the property, (2) how much it should have cost as opposed to what you paid, (3) how you will be able to profit from the work you're doing, and how the work is getting done. You and your whole crew/family/team are to be commended for your willingness to take risks, see possibilities where others do not, and for really knowing what you are doing. I hope all of this goes well for you because the work you are putting in is really amazing. This redefines the phrase, "Creating a silk purse from a sow's ear." Bravo, sir, bravo!

Love what your doing with this house!! I know from experience just how hard it is to complete such a big project. I myself have taken on an endeavor on 20 acres but we had to clear the land to put a place on it and it was back breaking! My husband cut down all the junk trees and we had to haul them to a pile even the dog drug limbs eventually we burnt them in the fire pit. We had to do most of the labor ourselves to save money. Glad it’s finished now and we love it💕💕💕

I think I'd really consider developing those lots yourself and keeping 12 acres or so, which would then have ended up costing you nothing. Interest rates are going to rise over the next few years and that will make it harder to sell at current prices. But... you're a smart guy and can figure it out.

I'd say you definitely got a deal! This place was always expensive, compared to Phoenix, but then all the Californians started fleeing the insanity and grabbing up anything they could get, for over the asking price (cheap, compared to California).
