I really liked Kurt Russell in this film

Kurt Russell's hair is perfection. Like David Lynch.

I've always said and still maintain, that -- H8tful Eight is better than people realize. Kurt Russell has it right, imho. It's ahead of its time for a QT movie. It's honestly probably my favorite. Maybe a (very) close second.

Best thing that happened in that film was the perfect casting .. including JJL.. as Daisy.. she made that part hers...

When this level of talent gets together to make a movie along with the writer is really something magical. They become instantly classic films that will last a very long time.

When I saw Reservoir Dogs for the first time as a kid, I thought, “finally.” I needed QT movies in my life. I needed a guy movie that I hid from my parents. A pulpy gangster film for my generation to call their own. We desperately needed one. A film that is different, yet feels like a classic. All of his movies I saw after that have been blessings. I love each of them.

Respect to Kurt for saying ‘third,’ and not some marketing answer like ‘this is the best one, come see it.’ All of the Tarantino movies are masterpieces, and ranking third amongst them puts it leagues above other movies. And for what it’s worth I think he’s right; third and fourth are a toss up with Eight and Bastards. I am incredibly grateful to watch what this director and his team create.

One quality of the films that attract me, and I believe is purposeful, is the feeling that you are watching a reel-to-reel projected movie. The making of a classically filmed modern movie. The scenes seem to be random arenas for the characters to actually act out the dialogue. This view also credits the actors capabilities. I know very little about film in general but QT films give you reason to ask what made that so interesting.

I love you, Tarantino.

Hateful Eight has a ton of good dialogue. Better than Pulp Fiction or the Kill Bill lineup, or Inglorious Basterds. The dialogue and the PERIOD dialogue (being civil war era) was super good.

What is “non-pc” about The Hateful Eight?

My only issue and that was solved later after the movie release is that its too fucking long for a movie. The fact of the matter that it was originally around 6 hours is insane.

OK so they 11 films, not 10. Which means they think one of his films would be in two parts. And the only thing hes shot in two parts is Kill Bill. SO you could deduce that of his last films, one is unnamed, and one (two?) is the long awaited Kill Bill sequel. As much of a fan of japanese TV and films as he is, its not surprising at all.

Pretty obvious that Pulp Fiction is Kurt's #1 but I wonder what he put at #2?

I love Kurt Russell. One of my favorite actors. I'm not saying he's getting old or looking like an old lady........but.......He is starting to look like Caitlyn Jenners mom.

O I'm sure he'll be studied alongside Kubrick, Coppola and Orson Welles, might be more along the lines of "There was a period in cinema history where due to a lack of imagination a series of directors decided that they would do it all, produce, direct, write, etc... and in that era we got a series of films that were basically the result of a formula where the current film was the same as the previous film and as the film made 4 years prior and so on...."

1:00-1:06, this. I don't want to watch an actor reading the script, I want to be a guy who stands next to the two "characters" who having a talk. In my opinion, superhero genere movies killed cinema back at 2010 and it might never return.

No one directs them like Tarantino and Scorsese. I will place David Fincher on the 3rd position. Tarantino and Scorsese makes you question your own inner self ,when watching one of their movies. And the dialouge of a Tarantino movie is always,always a Mexican burrito. Tarantino makes everyday stuff sound magical. No one,no one can do that.

So a few words about Quentin Tarantino's movies; his alltime best movie is PULP FICTION as #1 and Reservoir Dogs #2 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is also very good. PULP FICTION got it all. No movie like it.

I can barely even watch this film. I’m not sure why everyone thinks it’s so great.

Why is it I feel that Tarantino very quickly figured out the collective psyche of Hollywood, then designed his films to appeal to their sense of self-image? As in, it's as if things that happen, and even some of the music, is incredibly pretentious and is pointing to itself and saying "Isn't this really cool?" like it should be obvious to everyone, and critics are afraid that if they don't get it, then they AREN'T cool... therefore they fawn over it and say how significant it is... Seriously- the first film I watched was "Pulp Fiction"- and I quit about 20-30 minutes in. Watched it all later. But- I find myself watching something like "Kill Bill" and there is a scene that NOTHING is happening, and it seems like it drags on and on 2-3 minutes longer than it needed to establish the shot or the event. Then I find myself saying "That music is terrible, and it just won't stop!" That's what makes me think he's laughing at us, saying "This is awful but I'm framing it like it's something cool- and they're afraid to admit they aren't in on it, or don't get it..." Does any of this make any sense to anyone else? Or is it just me? 🤔 And don't get me wrong- I don't really care if anyone else feels like this, I'm just curious... 🙂

Quentin Tarantino makes great movies but I really didn't like this one, it didn't make sense to me.

Quentin Tarantino is a B-movie maker, If you have to use gratuities language and violence to tell your story your are either lazy or unequipped.

This movie is an unmitigated pile of steaming dog shit. "Hate Fellate" indeed.

I thought the movie was kinda lame. Definitely not Top 3 like Kurt said.

Tarantino would do well to broaden his canvas and palette ... over reliance on blood has become boring.
