This was a great informative video. You did a wonderful job breaking down the monthly expenses and the costs were realistic (at least for my area in the US). Owning a dog is not cheap and one needs to be aware of the associated costs. It's also a good idea to start a rainy day fund for unexpected vet bills if you don't want to purchase insurance. Well done Will.

I really, REALLY want a German Shepard. Currently own a Bishon Frise, he’s two and is a pain in the arse (but he’s so lovable and cuddly!) my dream has always been to own a larger dog, not sure why but you just see them out with their owners and think, well, that I’d like it’s not jealousy or anything but I just think they’re such a beautiful animal, so protective, proud dog. The way they walk, if trained properly and the way they sit with their chest out, again if trained properly.

Did you find one? We have puppies available right now, May 2023. We own both parents. The Sire is from the top bloodlines in the world with several 1st place world champions. We are offering the puppies at a fraction of their value.

Mine so far cost me 6500 and she’s only 13 weeks old. Love her and it’s not about the cost as much as who she is. Love her like my own daughter very smart couldn’t put a price tag on letting her go with that being said she could be the most expensive dog in the world to me because she is in good hands and loved very much

This is why I set up a separate bank account for my dog´s needs. High end border collie is what I have. 20 months old soon, and already I´m spending 130 dollars (equivalent of) on food (Hills from the vet). Good quality crate, treats, toys etc is all covered now because I made the necessary arrangements before getting him. We only just now got health insurance available up here in the Faroe Islands, fantastic! We are active 6-8 hours a day and so he will eat more than other average size dogs and he is still not done growing. Train several times a day as everyone should. Most moments are teachable moments. Once loose leash walking is in place then most of our hard work will be over. He has extreme desire to herd which has made it very difficult to train him to walk on a loose leash, but baby steps are still steps ;) .

Our dog cost $20,000, he has the top pedigree in the world with several world championships in his bloodline in protection/Schutzhund. He just Sired puppies, and they have amazing potential. We are asking $3000, (normal puppy cost is $6000-7500 for this level) They are available in May 2023.

I got quality leather collar for a lot less than £50. My female is just getting BVA hip and elbow scored for £400 and I’m hoping she will stay my breeding prospect. My pet insurance for 15k lifetime cover is £33. I definitely don’t spend that much on my dog per month and I feed organic, grass fed, FEDIAF raw.

Well I guess your estimation was spot on the only difference is I've got mine from the breeder in Hong Kong it was virtually free during the pandemic period there is no way they can ship out the GSD & that's how I've got mine for virtually free.

I need a little help answering a question about my German Shepherd Malinois mix. He's 6 months old 75 lb extremely aggressive. He does not like strangers and other dogs. He's great with everyone in the house, including my mother and father who do not live with me. I called a number of dog trainers and they all said that they could get him under control. I like having parties with a lot of people and they said he will be fine after being trained. One guy came over and said, he can get him to work for him then train us to work with him. Being off leash with people running around, he would not advise it. His natural instinct is to protect his family and you will never get that out of them. He's a high drive dog and even with training he is not the type of dog to have around a lot of people at a party. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This could be true but there is german line german shepherds and American line. German line live longer but are smaller. They are also stronger. So which are we talking about. By price I think your talking about German line because America line are cheaper as a puppy. But german line german shepherds stay by your side so no need for a fence. But a 90 pound german shepherd is American line. German line are 60-70

I got mine for $300 very cheap, the person selling them had two german shepherd with paper work and it had puppies. They were 5 month old and she had around 8 of them in her household so she was tryna find them a owner quick as possible

Got my boys for 150 euros each, without pedigree but parents are pedigree. But that’s here in Bulgaria. Dog food is 20 euros per month for 2 9 month old puppies

So your saying you could spend up to $11,000 dollars a year for your dog? Not including the dog cost? So if they live to be 10, you could be spending upwards to $100,000 dollars? Pretty gnarly estimate on the high end.

SHARING ... If you are going to get a GSD fall in Love with the REAR END first ( look for NO wiggle Legs ) then fall in LOVE with the FRONT END which is unenviable. LETS GET RID OF BAD BREEDERS, .... the dogs deserve better that being SHOW MATERIAL !!!!!!!

Sadly we're unable to give specific advice on which breed is best for an individual and there are so many personal factors. I just put a deposit on a GSD that I'll pick up around July 1st(8 weeks old), paying $2000 cad 🤢🤢 from a breeder with the parents being registered

A dog is a dog .a German shepherd is a German shepherd.i don't need to buy it from an A K C member.if it's a puppy then raise it right with shots etc .feed him good and whatever else.hed be as intelligent and strong as any German shepherd out there.ill find me a free one from the ad sack.great video tho!

These are sob dog prices and I think inaccurate estimations. Your exchange rates maybe a bit off and you didn't tell any difference between registered/show dogs, unregistered, working breed.
