Not right now, 3 shifts in 6 days 80% of drivers were on call so you get called in then u wait anywhere from 10 to 48 hours off, u can't plan when to be home, they pay well with a schedule if you stay for 5+ years. It's on call, your their bitch. About 40 drivers were let go or quit from my terminal in Cali, trucks just sitting now.

They sure are. Recently one swerved into the lane next to them, killing a young girl, and got off with a slap on the hand, when the driver should be behind bars. Fuck this shitty company. I'll never do business with them.

@@Malli_Malyou have to start in the warehouse as a package handler for about 1-3 years to gain seniority then you’ll have a higher chance of getting a drivers position. UPS is all based off seniority

@@mitchellcole832 motor vehicle record, basically making sure the scales didnt get u for nothing, or nothing serious at least. u need cdl a, doubles and hazmat and probably some other stuff for odfl, but im canadian i dont know the requirements down there very well.

@@1artillery1linehaul you’re the first to get laid off if it’s slow. They start going through a sweep of people who have lots of call offs and sick call offs then move from bottom of seniority. This guy was P&D for 9 months switched over to LH and he told me it’s better but my P&D trainer who also trained him told me that he got laid off for 4 months being LH. Go to other carriers for linehaul OD pays cpm while other carriers pay hourly no need to drive fast when hourly.

I worked on the the dock for OD for years. Really rough hours but I heard that has changed since I quit working there. Never drove though. Other guys liked going from the dock to driving. I would have been bored driving. I liked loading freight. Stowers seemed to have the best job along with weights and measurements guys. Stayed busy but out of the cold. The major complaints all dock workers had was that they didn’t pay overtime until people reached 60 hours so they routinely worked people as close to 60 hours as possible. I was working my life away

I did it out of the dmv handbook. Depends on the person. Some struggle I know, even spend thousands for classes, I think maintaining it and being responsible with it is the tough part for some. Imo.

Here at ABF our pay is gonna go up and as a road driver I’ve been bringing home NETTING 2-3k a week!!!! And we have no cost health care and a pension!!!! Get real!!! ABF revenue is 1.2 billion. But Cali is the most expensive place to be... 20,000 a yr where I am is poverty, some parts of California poverty is making a 100,000. Literally in the last 3 years $500,000-1 million here is buying 20-50acres with 5000-10,000sq ft homes. Where in Cali I see homes listed at 1 million dollars & be completely trashed.
