I found out 10 years after I appealed that ss "lost" x-ray of my back vertebrae touching, and 5 pages of ekg stress test for abnormal heartbeat. Errors on applications, lost documents, Nothing but excuses and lies from ss.

We need to keep them focused on these issues. like SSI they don't count the first $80 This is outdated it's simply not enough. $80 doesn't even pay gas to get to work. On SSDI if you work they will review you. Why aren't they encouraging people to work even a few hours to pay into the system? They are focusing on catching fakers. They need to focus on getting people to pay into the system. Even if it's just 5 hours a week, at least you are contributing.

After workiñg since I was 16 years old and then being injured duriñg lunchtime as I lived just up the street from my job site, I was caught in a downpour of rain, a rain squall it's called, I slipped down the landlords steps and was later found laying on the sidewalk by my daughter and the rain had subsided to just a drizzle and although there were several elderly people telling me to just lay still, that the EMS was on their way, but as I just lived next door, my daughter helped me home. Later as the pain increased I was taken to the hospital

I applied myself 16yrs ago (bipolar) & after 3yrs of being homeless. I was approved on my 1st try. I was told you had to be unemployed for 1 year before applying. Then I had to see 3 of their doctors, etc. I started out getting my $27k back pay, then $1700 plus $697ea of my 2 kids but that stopped when they turned 18. Now I take home a little over $2k a month plus my Wife's Paycheck which is the only way we are making it. I've never done anything or heard from SSI/DI since. It was just like an Auto Set income amount that I receive. We've applied for Medicare/Food Stamps when my Wife was unemployed & we were only approved for $9 a month, yes! $9 a month for a 2 person household at that time I was taking home $1800 a month here in TX.

SSA rejected my first application for SSDI but fortunately for me, I receive workers comp payments of 1870 biweekly because I was hurt at work. My lawyer feels I should get it on appeal but they sent me more paperwork to fill out. The 3740 I already get plus a possible 3600 from SSDI would be nice this year. I'm getting started on that paperwork AGAIN

Ssi is income based as in if you are married and have other income. SSDI is for work credits. The max used to be 3400 a month. It may have gone up with COLA
@bkmarine1
@bkmarine1 Жыл бұрын
How do you end up getting this max of 3400 or more? Is it related to you being married and or having dependents or is it related to what you were making prior to when you became disabled? My application just became 100%, so now I'm waiting for my letter as to whether I was approved or denied. Stinks that you can't just go on their website and find out, but instead you have to wait for a letter in the mail like it's 1985.

We all got 3 months of back pay for ssi and didn't get our back pay for SSDI is this normal or is this wrong

Over 750,000 dollars went into social security snd they want to give you 2500.00 a month . 28,000. I’m truly stumped, I filed for SSDI In Oct. 2022 after 45 years of flawless work with many years I maxed out the tax liabilities of my social security. I finally at age of 61 realized that I could know longer do the physical job that I was employed at for over 35 years, so I retired and filed for SSDI. I have 6 disc removed from my cervical and lumbar spine combined with a neck fusion (4) disc from my neck. I also have high BP, NASH, Gird, hypothyroidism , and degenerative disc disease in my spine and I have a total of 11 of the ailments listed by SSDI. That could entitle me for disability and I turned in many many X-rays, C-scans, MRI’s and doctor reports from my primary physician, orthopedic surgeons(2). Neurologist. And endocrinologist and yet SSDI is sending me for a consultation exam (CE) with their doctor. Do they think I’m faking or surely they couldn’t need anyone else to say that I am disabled. What gives???

They're giving criminals who aren't even cituznz automatic Disability and every service possible, including free health insurance and housing. No wonder millions are flowing in. @TheDisabilityDigest
@TheDisabilityDigest 5 ай бұрын
I understand your concern about the discrepancy in your estimated SSI retirement benefits. It can indeed be confusing when the numbers don't seem to add up. The estimates provided by the Social Security Administration are based on your current earnings record and assume you'll continue to earn the same amount of income until you reach retirement age. If there's been a change in your income or work situation, this could potentially affect the estimated benefits. To better understand how your Disability Check amount is calculated, I recommend watching this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n8ekerOovpyXco0.html. It provides detailed information about the calculation process, which might help clarify the situation for you. However, for more personalized assistance and to understand the specifics of your situation, I would recommend contacting customer support if you are a member of the Disability Digest. So I guess my assumption that applying for SSDI isn't the same thing as applying for retirement, and regardless of what age I am when I apply for SSDI is correct and it shouldn't affect the age at which I apply for my full retirement at 67? Hi, thanks for your question. Typically, if you are younger than age 65 and receive disability benefits under Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), you will automatically be enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B in the 25th month of your disability payments, or sooner depending on your medical condition.

Hello, After being unable to work any more.(at the end of 2017 - After working full time for 39 years straight), I began applying for SSDI. I was denied 3 times in 5 years. My 3rd application, dated Jan 2022, is in process, and I received notice 2 weeks ago that the medical part is complete and I qualify, beginning Jan 2022 🙄. Now, it goes to an administrative office for final review & determination (online it says 90% complete). My question is; Given that I stopped working in Dec 2017, will I have enough points? Also, I probably averaged 40k a year in my life. Will I still be eligible for the maximum payment? (i.e. Will they take into count when determining my amount, that I worked that long, or penalize me for the last 5 years, even though I was trying to get disability?) It sounds like the 10 year rule is unfair given that it often takes many years (and multiple denials), to finally get accepted. (And, my denials said, that it was due to their not being able to get my medical records from another state. That's not my fault. I gave them hard copies of everything.) I believe that SSDI should be looking at the big picture of your life, and I worked my azz off and paid into Disability for those 39 years. Thanks very much for any info that you can provide. I'm SO stressed out, waiting on that final letter, that I can't eat or sleep. It's literally a life line for me.

@@TheDisabilityDigest -Thank you for replying. I guess I just have to continue hoping and praying. How awful that they take SO long to process applications (while people suffer needlessly, mentally, physically, and financially). It seems to me that they could eliminate a LOT of work for themselves by checking the points first. (aka. Why go through the entire process, includng sending the applicant to doc apts, etc., if they never qualified to begin with, based on their points, that can be calculated in mear seconds by pulling up your SS page in their database. It's absolutely ridiculous.) Anyway, thanks again for replying, and for your channel. It's very helpful. Take care. 🩷

I left my job in Nov. 2019 due to diabetes damaging the retina in my good eye. My other eye was legally blind since I was a kid. I filed for disability in August of 2020. They took until Oct. 2021 to approve me. Did I get a huge retroactive check for the months between filing and approval? HELL NO! They said I wasn't disabled until July 2021 and that I had to remain disabled for 5 months after they determined I was disabled, before I get my first check. And even then, it's an additional month for that first check to arrive so I didn't start collecting until April 2022.

The only thing we can do to protect ourselves is carry short and long term one in case of disability. But people can't afford it when they cant afford rent or groceries.

Piggy backing that question, I was approved in February 2023 and I am still waiting for my accumulated retro and back pay which has now seemed like forever. I’ve called and went in. They’ve emailed payment center. Only to have no response. Is there anything else I can do to have them move on that?

I don't know you get $430 a month for disability. I should be getting a 1000 some I've been getting robbed all these years. I think it's wrong and it's so scared to use the same way. They cut mine and hair so what can I? Do? You say people's getting a thousand some dollars well that's a lie

I understand that there are legitimate people needing SSI, but I personally know five, six people getting SSI, and why I have NO CLUE!!!!! There is too much fraud...too many Drs that roll over. I worked after three failed back surgeries, but saw people that NEVER even had a surgery get benefits.

Agreed and it sucks! For those who worked for forty years before having medical issues, this is the ultimate slap in the face. I paid in every paycheck but people who have never worked get social security? It does not seem reasonable to me.

@@latesk8er How about you work for all your life to pay someone else to not work and they get more from social security. You might sing a different tune.
