How Much I Made In Driveaway With My Last 3 Loads

Can you make money in driveaway with high fuel prices? That's what I'll be taking a look at in this video. I'll be going over what I made and what I spent out on the road with my last 3 loads. I'll show you what I spent on fuel, how many miles I drove and my expenses. With rising fuel cost, it can be hard to make a profit with some of these driveaway companies. Some have kept their fees in check with the rising fuel costs while others haven't raised their fees, or raised them minimally to keep in touch with the cost of fuel.
The results I'll be showing you in this video are from two companies. One of them is the last paying driveaway company I'm leased to while the other is one of the better paying driveaway companies.

Great info and videos. In the process of signing with victory. Already with quality and wanting to add a third. No tow car yet but I still do decent even with the gas prices. Run pretty similar to how you run just add a 4-5th day to offset my travel expenses. Tow car is the way to go you make a decent amount more.

Yep, a lot of people claim they make as much or more without a tow car, but I don't believe it. Especially now that you can't get a car rental for less than $100 a day and flights have skyrocketed.

That's great to hear! I've been trying to stay away from RV driveaway because of all the horror stories I've heard about how bad the mileage is on them. But they can't be as bad as school buses! Glad to see others are making some money with these high fuel prices. I think you'll love the CDL loads! Thanks for stopping by and sharing your experiences, keep in touch and let me know how it goes the next time you're out on the road!

@@yeetyeet6682 That's a good goal! Those headwinds real really eat up your mpg. Just took a bus to Colorado that I was hoping to get 8 to 10 out of. Fought 20+mph headwinds and ended up getting 5 to 6 mpg most of the trip :(

Drivers are too easy, which is why companies can get away with paying 3rd world wages. Drivers are the ones doing the actual work and yet they are getting the short end of the stick. And I have been driving for 23 years so yes I have a say in this.

Hello. I was wondering if you would have some advice. I signed up with pinnacle. It's been trying to get my first run for over 2 weeks and haven't gotten anything. Is this normal? I live 8n southern California and have tried to sign on with other companies but a lot of them are saying they are not accepting California drivers at the time
@DrivingWithDon
@DrivingWithDon Жыл бұрын
I don't know anything about Pinnacle. But most companies should be able to get you a load a lot quicker than two weeks as long as all your paperwork is done and you have your placards and tags. You should be ready to rock. And yes, lots of companies won't hire CA folks.

So every run is otr just to make money for drive away why do these videos show otr running not trying do otr . You pay for fuel or not. How do you get from terminal to terminal
@DrivingWithDon
@DrivingWithDon 6 ай бұрын
Most all runs are otr. Whether you pay for fuel or the company you are leased to pays for fuel, is up to the company you lease to. There are really no "terminals" for the most part. Some companies have drop yards, but by far and away you'll be picking up at dealers or another company and delivering to a company. How you get to drop off and pick up locations is entirely up to you in this business. You're an independent contractor. Some people use public transportation, some people like myself use a tow vehicle.

When I was a company driver and driving 18 wheeler trucks, I deducted a lot of expenses. The key is being away from home and an over-the-road driver. I received a lot of money back in taxes due to that. Every commercial driver receives per diem as well as any paid out-of-pocket job-related expenses.
@powaqqatsi8
@powaqqatsi8 9 ай бұрын
Drivers that get paid by the mile are getting 3rd world wages. Drivers are away from home and putting in 11 plus hours a day, easily. If a driver were to take his weekly pay and divide by actual hours worked, you will find out how your time or work is actually valued.
@DrivingWithDon
@DrivingWithDon 6 ай бұрын
The awesome thing about this industry is that no one makes you do it. If you can't handle being over-the-road, there's plenty of "JOBS" back at home. And realistically, if someone is making 3rd world wages in this business, they probably should go get a local JOB!

@DrivingWithDon
@DrivingWithDon Жыл бұрын
You're an independent contractor. Lodging is up to you. There are companies that do pay for lodging, but typically you'll be an employee of theirs, not an IC. Also, if you noticed, two of those trucks had sleepers. Built-in lodging right behind the driver's seat!
