It probably wouldn't be a big deal having it off center as you would be able to see your car better and avoid all that extra work. I've seen people do that with box trucks since you can't really see your tow car. I've also seen a guy have a big pole that he puts on his roof with a green tennis ball on each end.. sticks out a good bit so you can see it

You can drive nearly everything in driveaway with a Class B. Of course, the few tractor and trailers that might come along would be the exception. Here's a list of companies. driveawayguide.com/company-ratings/

I have some other videos on hooking up, you might check those out as well. The vehicle you are planning on using must have a base plate. I have a video also on what you'll need to hook up to a semi or other vehicle. As for weight, that particular pinch hitch (the one on the back of the semi) weighs about 60+ pounds. It can be a bit much at times!

Is that the regular style lift gate? Looks like a tuck under. Really want to figure out a way to put one on a truck with a tuck under lift gate but looks complicated. Do you just disconnect tow extension hitch when u want to use it? Also how much do you think that long extension is rated for? Seems okay for lighter weight towing but would be very scared with heavy towing. I need to tow an 8000lb wood chipper regularly for my small tree service business
@DrivingWithDon4 ай бұрын
You know, this video was made quite a while ago and I really don't remember what type of lift gate it was. But I've started using a pancake hitch from Tier1 Fabrication when I do take a lift gate truck. I try and not take them because they can be a pain to hook up to. As for that stinger (I also got it from Tier 1), I'm not sure what the rating is for. But I bet if you call Kris at Tier 1, he can tell you what it's rated for. His website is t1fabrication.com

So I looked up the anti rattle bracket and most on Amazon say 1.25 inch to 2 inch. Is that the one you get or do you get one for 2inch specifically? I have been putting Placards in side windows just making sure I can easily see over them and the front plate in the windshield. The first time I did I run I almost lost my Placards off the door taped outside. I have found the doors must be cleaned to make the tape stick and I don't want to scratch paint smearing dirt on the door to tape to it. I am sure I will run into one where I can't put it in the driver side window but by sliding it down into the window behind the seal till the numbers are as low as they can go I only have to run tape across the top.
@DrivingWithDon4 ай бұрын
I've used both. But I think these are the 1.25 to 2 inch ones. I've had them quite a while.
