Happy it was interesting. I've seen a lot of videos of amazing places but they always seem to me a bit far from reality...but maybe it's really just about locations and different pricing. Glad to have you onboard!

Bellissimo! The tunnel at the beginning, looks like the one in Schio (not sure if it is), but there are many tunnels in that region. My mother's side is from Veneto - I have spent a lot of summers in the Piccole Dolomitis, also trail running. Maybe one day I'll buy a place out there (I have dual citizenship but what I really need to do is fix my very rusty Italian and practice).

Glad you liked it. It is really a nice region up here. We're a bit more East than Schio but you're right, there's a lot of resemblance in those tunnels. I know that part of Italy well. I loved trail running and it's been pretty hard to give it up but now I hike a lot and try to teach my kid to love outdoors activities in general. If you need to practice your Italian for sure I need to practice my English 😅... My husband can teach us German, we can have a language class in the Dolomites! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for sharing your journey, your before and after footage was so impressive! You have created such a lovely home. I would love to hear more about the lessons you've learnt, mistakes you made, things you discovered you enjoy only after starting to live off grid. And what was your experience like during the height of covid? I don't know how functional your home was in 2020, but were you glad you had an off grid home during that time?

Grateful for the kind words. It has been a long and interesting journey. COVID here was a crazy time but although we were not supposed to get out of our property since we're in the middle of nowhere we would go for long walk in the woods and just avoid get in contact with other human beings. The house was ok but still there was a lot of work to do, nothing terrible but we had a lot of time to perfection many renovations. Absolutely happy to had the chance to spend lockdown in a place where the outdoor was still an opportunity especially with,at that time, a 5 months old baby.Hope you'll enjoy the channel!

thank you for making this video! I've been thinking about travelling around and looking for remote places that are available to buy. Do you have any more tips how to go about that? I was thinking maybe get in touch with ppl on workaway or wwoofing in the areas I'm looking for.

Happy to know it helped. Get in touch with the locals is the best road to try. Find a place you enjoy and then start talking to people that work and live around there. We went hiking a lot, searching for abandoned properties first, to get the feel of the surroundings. Then we started looking for what we thought we might manage to work on. Talking with locals in the end was what helped us. Maybe you can search through Facebook if there is a community page of the region you might think could work for you.
