Is "vanlife" expensive?
No gate-keeping here, this is exactly what I spent on 1 year travelling full-time around Europe and North Africa in my self-converted campervan including EVERYTHING, from food and fuel, to phone bills, mechanical repairs and activities. I've taken a deep-dive into my expenses and added absolutely everything together to give you this total and show you how much taking a year out to travel could cost.
I mean, we drove all the way from the UK to the Sahara Desert! That's pretty crazy!

At 11:50 I share some of the most recent van repairs in the text at the top, which were a great price in Morocco! Prior to those I think I’d done the back breaks, both CV joints (I’ve really been testing this poor van around windy mountain roads so I’m not surprised one went again 😅) and other small routine bits to get it though it’s MOT. I don’t want to praise it too much as I don’t want to tempt fate! Literally after finishing this video the side door has now basically fallen off 😆🙈🙈 it’s fixable but I think the weight of the cladding has slowly bent the rollers and now it’s a game of surgeon roulette every time you close and open it 😅 I feel all vehicular are a lottery and sometimes you get very unlucky and sometimes you get lucky

Awesome! I’ll get on it! In short, I’ve been able to transfer some of my existing skills from working in TV and Radio to editing and producing other peoples podcasts and also shooting UGC videos for brands and bit of video editing too, as well as the odd social media collaboration

Ooooh that’s a tricky one BUT I can say that last year, driving from Northern Spain (we got the ferry direct from UK to Spain) all the way down to Morocco, all the way around Morocco, (ferry to Italy) up to the dolomites and back to the UK, was only 8,000 miles!

Thx. Sounds like you are having a wonderful adventure. I just did a 4800 mile mountain biking centric roadtrip in SW US using an 40 year old Alaskan Camper in the back of my Diesel pickup. Amazingly averaged 14.1 mpg
