Keep it up! Glad you are self-aware enough to realize you are not putting in the time. One piece of advice I learned from watching other videos is to ask yourself two questions before you bet: 1. Will my bet get better hands to fold? 2. Will my bet get worse hands to call? If the answer to both questions is NO then Don't Bet! Otherwise Bet! Good Luck!

Jeremy, I have so enjoyed following your journey and watching all of your VLOGs, both the poker and the craps videos. When I got to the end (the update video above) I was quite sad, to be honest, because your journey inspired me to try the game of poker as well. While I completely understand your reasoning for the hiatus - the away from the tables studying is so massively important, as I am finding out myself - I did find myself eagerly anticipating your next vlog and your next vlog and comparing your thoughts and experiences to my own. So, I do wish that you would pick it back up and continue to vlog, even if you feel you are only progressing a little bit each time, because it helps people like me feel like we have a partner going through this with us. Your content is fantastic, and having watched many of the other poker vloggers out there, they show "interesting" (usually only winning hands) and walk through their thought process for each hand, but do so pretty fast and it's difficult at times to keep up. But being a beginner myself, I could really identify with your nerves the first few times playing, the thought process, etc.

I believe you're videos are an inspiration for thousands of beginners, please continue your Good Deed, your video gave me the courage to go to a casino and try 1/2 NLH $40 buy in, i am 60, never played poker in my life, just watched on KZfaq for 15 years ,I was intimidated by the challenging game, I had a great learning experience at the Gardens Casino CA poker table last weekend. It was not about winning or losing, enjoying my time. It takes practice, practice, and more real live cash games practice to improve poker skills. I hope you continue your quest, never give up. Yeah man…understandable. I think you’ve done well so far learning at the casinos. One of the best learning environments I ever had for poker was a weekly or biweekly home game, rotating at different friends houses. I know it isn’t the easiest thing to find the right group, but u end up learning a lot of aspects of the game at very low stakes with people that are willing to discuss hands after they happen.

I agree. Even if he released raw footage with no commentary I'd keep watching just to see how things go. You can't really sit at a poker table and just observe but this let's you get that feeling and at least feels educational for me.

I've watched all of your vlog games so far and in this video when I hear you say you don't want to play if you feel like you aren't improving, then my feedback would be to play when you ARE improving and pay attention to those moments. Poker's a conceptually simple game to pick up but hard to master. I think in future vlogs, maybe in background audio explain what you're doing and why you're doing it. If you pay attention to Brad Owen's vlogs, he gets dealt hands like AK offsuit and will play those hands and in background, say something like "There's very few hands that beat me before the flop, so I'm gunna get in while I can." and if he gets beat, then he learns something. It doesn't mean he misplayed or made the wrong choice though. My other piece of feedback would be - When you have a strong hand like pocket pairs, royal connectors (AK, AQ, KQ, KJ, J10, Q10 etc) before the flop...really pay to make people see the cards and make them pay that "viewing tax". I've noticed in your past vlogs when you had pocket pair of aces or 10's etc...you call with a low amount like $6 or check and neither of those squeeze much money out of the rest of the table. Other than that, I enjoy watching your vlogs and I hope you find the inspiration to keep playing even if just because you like playing the game. Keep it up. (Maybe a 10 minute vlog in the future? 😉)

I have enjoyed all of your poker videos. As I have continued to play I set a plan for each session and stick to that plan. Sometimes the plan is to play a certain way for the whole session and only make changes when the table dictates it (soft table or very aggressive player). I set a minim amount of time and money. I also plan to have a good time. If I am not enjoying the challenge of the game it time to go play craps. keep up the good work.

If you want to keep the VLOGS new and fresh, you can do a review under fire of different strategies and play recommendations from the books and videos you have watched to let us know what works and what doesn't.

I’m on pretty much the same journey but with different destination I just want to get good enough to supplement my retirement but a small suggestion make a game plan and stick to it and report on those would probably be a good reference for guys like me good luck I also throw the dice and have been able to make up losses from poker seasons 😂😂

Jeremy, love the transparency keep it up! Wanted to ask, I will be in Vegas for work and excited to play some live low stakes games (will be the first time playing poker in a casino) could you explain going about leaving the table when you are finished. Do you just get up and walk away or do you tell someone? What do you do with your chips, given you still have some left when you decide you’re done for the evening, what is the proper etiquette for this?
@coloruppoker
@coloruppoker 6 ай бұрын
Great questions. Yes, you can just stand up to leave anytime. You don’t have to say anything. You can say goodbye to anyone you may have been chatting with, or dealer. Take your chips to poker desk, or hopefully you have big stacks, retrieve a chip rack or two from the desk, go back to table to collect all your chips and then go back to desk to change for cash.

Poker Vlog 279. To be honest all I’m hearing is the Norm, You’ve hit a wall, you feel a certain type of way. You made a goal, Stick to that goal, you clearly understand your faults. So just do what you can, spend more time. If you don’t have the heart in it anymore that’s another story. But if deep down you want to keep going. Well then keep fuckin going. I feel like it’s only NATURAL to feel how you’re feeling now. But Natural feelings are For the birds lol

I think you are just kind of stuck in a rut, it's a challenge you made with yourself and you have to decide if you are having fun and progressing at your goal. And I definitely understand if you are getting more enjoyment and revenue from doing the craps stuff. The viewers are rooting for you to master poker, though, so there is that.

Can we get an update? Are you still playing at all? You said you "haven't given up" in this update, but we haven't heard anything since. As a casual poker player since 2003, I really enjoyed watching your poker journey. While I can understand that you feel you need to put in the time to further educate yourself, some of the best education is at the table. You can read all the poker books you want, but you'll never improve without time at the table.

@@coloruppoker I've just started watching poker videos online. Used to watch the WSOP back in the day but all of a sudden I'm interested again. There's a lot I still don't understand but I play WSOP online but real money so I don't think it's a good representation of playing online with real money but I think I want to try. Any tips or suggestions? I appreciate what you tried to do with this channel and it's helped me alot
