2010 it was $2,000 all day T.T and an E30 M3 was obtainable, right before the 2013 rocket ship in price. 1 day they were $12k the next $50k, and then the next into absurdity hitting over 6 figures.

Enjuku built the S15 just for Adam it was not used. They debuted it a SEMA for him to just play with and then he ended up going to FD.

Sold my 240SX for $400.00 to some kid who drove a hour away from K.C I had it listed as $1,000.00 dollars as a roller. He said, he had a few 240SX car's he threw 6000.00 to 12,000.00 dollars into. Who knows if he did a LS swap.

Built a GC8 clone. Used 98 rs full 05 sti swap. Closed deck engine and cryoed regeared transmission. Pushed 930hp on the dyno. Cost about $45-50k to build.

'Proven' lmao. The salesman always comes out, i love it. Im not into drift but i still can appreciate something purpose built done correctly. Yea, its ridiculous money, but Im sure its like setting a cannonball record, what gets you a win cant entirely be bought. Trial and error, knowledge, etc. Money just gets you a seat at the table.

Everything is crazy expensive rite now. From cars to motorcycles. I bought a 06 crf250r for 1500$ in 2013. An 8 year old bike in great condition with only 60 hrs total on in (prob could have found a cheaper one but decided to get that as I had the cash on hand) Now in 2023 the same bike now over 17 years old I dont see any running bikes for less then 3000$. It's just crazy to buy a bike and ride the shit out of it and be able to sell it 10years later for more then I bought it for. I still have it the bike, I decided to keep it for my nephew as he outgrew his 150 but prices for used vehicles now are crazy.

In this instance and area of motor sports its probably better to get your hands on a car that's been used and seen in action. The figures we hearing here shows its a wealthy person's game and given that I'd say the cars are definitely looked after to highest standards so shouldn't have any worries buying a used one. Looks good fun and drivers must be buzzing getting to experience this and the top teams get to call it their job. Don't think I'd be needing 3 alarms to get me up for work each morning if this was my job. Doing something you truly enjoy must be a pleasure 👌

This is why there are top level drift cars rotting in Japan. No one can pay the 300 to 700k per year budget to keep it running. In Japan in the 90’s it was doable, but then competition moved it to the realms of the uber rich. There is no way most people could afford to keep a competitive drift car running year in year out, at the standard required to compete and possibly win. Same as F1.

Hold on, are we talking about what it’s worth as it sits or what it cost to build it to it’s current level? No expert but what it costs to build and what it’s worth are totally different. From what I have seen used track cars are a bargain compared to the cost to build them. Not always but more often than not.

@@weedshoes5089 yea I regret selling my s15, it was pushing big power, but now I’m making up for it with the last ever s15 ever built it’s a 2002 spec R GT (leather seats) from factory 6 speed atm it’s pushing 310hp / 210kw it’s built for 400kw/ 536hp which I will be making in the next couple months and I’m currently getting it wrapped and putting some new work wheels on it , I’ve made 1 short but I’ll be uploading more

Any FD spec car will have a name attached. It’s a proven car driven by a proven pro driver. No FD car can be sold without a mark up because you know the driver. It’s not like your buying a drift car off some random on market place. You’re buying a proven pro drift car. You know it’s gonna be competitive anywhere you go.

If its a spec r the car is worth a lot by itself. The drivetrain can cost up to 100k easy wether its a sr or 2j. Plus chassis, suspension work. 200k is very possible. But his name making it worth 80k more? No, lol. who do u think he is, arton senna?

perfect 50/50 weight distribution, stock engine weighs only a few kgs less than an LS motor, so LS swapping doesn’t have much of an impact on the weight distribution

It's mainly due to how he progressed to be where he's at. Adam and another drifter name Orion from Haggard Garage set an example for working one's way up from seat time and experience to get where they at.

Please know Adam LZ doesn’t do anything without using someone else’s money for his benefit. Sponsors paid for most (if not all) of that car. He’s very smart in that way, but his every move is because he was able to get someone else (maybe even you) to finance his endeavors.

Uhm ..... A 2JZ in a Silvia??????? Well I mean..for a drift car?? I have seen people do swaps but that is uhm interesting choice, the Rb26dett for drifting is more ideal namely less weight and higher redline, the 2jz out the box has better low end for sure but at a race level that is mitigated by basically a rebuilt race engine and choices in components, don't get me wrong both engines are beast mode and highly coveted by the race and street communities for a reason, there is just something sacrilege about throwing a Toyota motor in a Nissan, it's just as bad as throwing it into a mustang........

you can definitely build an ls car and be well below 150k i could probably do it for under 50k if i rub some rocks together 10-5k for a shitty chassis motor 14k drivetrain 10k everything else isn’t super necessary those are rough numbers you can even use a “stock” ecu from like an LS based car and still be 1000 hp i know people that have done it most expensive cost would be wheels but worst case just throw some steel ones on and send it shit id love to build a high revving small block for drifting
