Just came back from a tour of Old Forester Distillery and did a tasting that included OF Birthday Bourbon. Presidents Choice was one of the offerings and I have to say I preferred Presidents Choice over Birthday Bourbon.

people are missing the point . this bourbon was created for celebration times like birthdays , anniversary ,weddings and priceless occasion. it was produce and marketed to be scares so that it can be enjoyed and not abused . the price point and scarcity was to make sure it is valued .

I got my first OFBB bottle ever (the 2023) last fall and opened it for my 40th b-day and thought it was in the quite to very excellent range. Going to revisit it with a friend this weekend and honestly can't wait to try it again.

Love the video. That Michter's 10 slaps plenty of high proofers. Just a fantastic bottle this year. I haven't tried the Birthday Bourbon. I'd grab one if I found it at retail, but I don't hunt it.

i would never hunt this bottle. I dont really hunt at all any more but i have a few i would push to pay for. The michters limited releases are the best on the market imo. Hard to beat. the 10 bourbon and rye slap! the Barrel strength rye and bourbon are insanely good as well as the toasteds. Then you talk about the sour mash celebration 20 and 25 consistently pushing to be the best whiskeys even though they are insanely priced. they just dont miss.

Grabbed this back in November. It was good at first crack but had a lot going on. Fast forward to last weekend with our first snow of the year falling, decided to revisit and Woah. The mint note Erin totally nailed. I felt like it was that thing that white people do where they dip candy canes in hot chocolate (sorry, that's the only people.i see who do this lol) Cheers and thanks for the video!

Store offered me a 2020 and turned down for the PHC 14th Heavy Char Bourbon. I was very happy.

Secondary on these bottles is ridiculous. OF ruined it when they went from in-distillery purchase to " good luck finding it at your local liquor store for less than $800"

Unless you lived in the area all they did was move the scalping money from one eyed joe to a local liquor store. If you live in the area or travel there often I could understand the frustration though.

I bought 22 at a bar for 40 or 50 a pour. Boy was that a disappointment. Watering down Bourbon of this caliber should literally be illegal....... Though I don't know if the barrel proof would be much more impressive. 🤷♂

If you stroll into high end liquor stores around the Los Angeles area you will generally see Birthday Bourbon priced higher than George T Stagg. $1000 and up.
