Exactly what I was thinking! It's also 50p in my local and when we have killer the barmaid gives us the key to the machine for when we need to re rack. If I go down the club its £5 an hour for the light which can tend to get you 10 - 12 games which equates to roughly 10p per game. I've never been in a pub that charged £1.50 a game and if I do, I would walk right out!

That's very cheap. The norm in the US is $1 per game. With your prices I'm surprised that vending company would be in business

It's one key difference we've found in the UK. Given a lot of tables are in places like pubs and general arcades, we find most in the UK will treat a single frame of pool like they would do a game on an arcade machine (where you pay per game, then pay again if you want to play again/continue). Most pool halls where American tables are more often found do usually charge hourly though. :)

Not where I live in the USA. All bars and even the pool hall take coins. the pool hall only has 7 rental tables the other 18 are coins op.

Typically, you'll need a whole new table if you want to do that. For virtually every table, it's not possible to retrofit a coin mechanism and ball storage system into a free play table.

I live in america not sure where you live or how the tables work where you live but yeah agreed I hate carrying change. There are some arcades that use a system where you buy a card and use that on the games and just recharge the card. Even that is better than carrying coins. Also I was playing in a pool league and the team I was on had to pay for 2 extra games cause the cue ball got stuck in the trap and the place did not have any keys to open it. Just some of the issues I have with pool.
