If you were to look at how much it’s cost to run all your cars and then subtract the UK average over the same duration how much of your profit is left?

Going back years. I shall work mine out. Worst I’ve done is lost £2700 in a couple of months when I bought a Golf GTD

I bought a Peugeot 306 gti6 for £6k when it was about a year old and sold it for £9k 3months later. And a Freg cavalier when it was 5years old I paid £2400 with a registration of F39ROY sold the plate for £600 and sold the car 6months later for £3500. No costs involved apart from petrol and insurance. Bought a Fiat Coupe about 10 years ago for £2000 and sold it 3 years ago for £7900 but spent about £4k on it.

What about all the money youve spent on repairs to all those shit boxes. Definitely in the negative surely?

Yeah it’s an interesting trade off between buy battered and fix up or buy sorted and pay the premium, I always prefer to pay the premium and buy something I’m happy with out the door

@@lewis72 I'm old, and back in the day it was easier to buy an entire car than to buy the part you needed For example, automatic sierra prop was £140 so I bought an entire car for £40, plus the fuel to and firm and was still £20 better off and then made around £500 in parts Another car I bought for £16 and it had £20 worth of petrol in it Another car I bought for £40 and then dailied it for 3 years after spending money on a new timing kit and 2 hours fitting it Only sold two cars, one for the same money I paid for it, £250, the other for probably a £40k loss after all the investment I put into it You win, you lose, cars are a passion, not a financial investment 👍
