Hello Demi! I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart as a fellow Singaporean, for sharing your knowledge to all of us for free! As a self employed musician, I’ve spent countless hours searching all of Singapore’s banks and being disappointed at the fine print when it comes to just finding a bank for savings. Money is a sore point for many Asian families and so I’ve not known anything up until the start of this year! Chancing upon your videos is a ray of hope and I think you deserve to be thanked. So, thank you so much for being an inspiration and I wish you all the good energy in the world! And of course, lots more money 😆🥰

Aww really appreciate this! Let's keep going! 🔥 Yea I do understand the pain points as well, I've been using UOB One to do a manual transfer and indicate that as salary to fulfil the criteria then spend $500 on a card to enjoy the interest rates! Hope this helps a little.

My goal this year is to safely maintain and hit above $1mil. Had some rough investments that went bad. Properties overseas had good steady rent but capital did not gain. Some rash stock and crypto investments made me lose the million so I have to be a little smarter this time round. On the bright side, my income has quadrupled so it is easier for me to hit $100k every two months now. I'm aiming to save 80% so i have more funds to deploy in investments. To cut down on unnecessary expenses, except travel i supposed, love traveling. Happy to hit new milestones every year and turning 26 this month, I definitely do not regret my mistakes to be a better investor this time round

If you wanna be successful, you most take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life

Thanks for the video Demi, i especially like videos like these where you reveal your net worth so that i can have a benchmark of where im at and where i could possibly be. I've always wanted to DCA into US ETFs (e.g. S&P, VOO, etc) myself but im scared that the exchange rate between USD/SGD may worsen in the future, which means the profit earned investing in them may be counteracted by the worser exchange rate (i hope that makes sense). I know that the earlier i start investing in them, the earlier compounding interest can work, but a part of me is still afraid of the losses? Do you have any advice/opinions and what are your thoughts on this? Is my concern about the exchange rate even a valid one?
@DemiZhuang2 ай бұрын
I totally understand where you're coming from. Had that thought too at the start. I think thats why I don't put it all in just the S&P500, it's a portion of my investments. There is never certainty when it comes to investing and thats why I think, at least for myself, I do prepare for 'what-if' these kind of things happen i.e. investing in SGD assets + cash.
