i’m going to hk for a year for my studying abroad at hku and this vid was so helpful. do you recommend opening a hk bank account while i’m there? or do you think cash and an octopus card will suffice?

NO. only part-time on campus while studying.

Inspiring video there, thank you! Are universities in Hong Kong accepting African students' of recent? I'm inspired by a few universities in Hong Kong, specifically HKU and HKUST but I learned that chances of me being admitted as an African student by a university in Hong Kong is very slim and maybe is impossible. What do you have to say about that or will you encourage African students' to apply to Hong Kong universities or not?

hey I've met quite a number of African students here. Would definitely encourage you to apply. The chances aren't slim, rather the opposite. Good luck!

*silently judging you for starting your weekly spending list on the Wednesday JKJK also, why you get the gala apples hiyaaaa they're so tiny in HK and cost CO2 to ship from the US. get the Asian pears, much cheaper and bigger. Unless you don't like asian pears and unless those are not in fact Gala apples from the US again, great video, very relaxing to watch ☺️

a comparison: foreigners in Myanmar will have a much much harder time going around only speaking English than here. I don't speak Chinese too. :)

Yes and no. You can work ON-campus while studying. OFF-campus work is only allowed during the summer.

Immerse yourself in english environment. Watch movies without subtitles, listen to podcasts, read books, and read news in english too! As long as you are putting effort and feeling uncomfortable, you are improving and getting closer :)
