I’ll tell you mine - no one seems to talk about it so I’ll share what I know.
I’m taking a break after this one folks for the summer school holidays - gonna have the summer with my family hopefully will be back in a few months once the loft cools a bit 👍 thanks a million for sharing this journey with me 👍👍

As I always say thanks a million to all my subscribers, and thanks to everyone that watches my videos, if you haven’t subscribed please consider doing so, I like my subscribers quite a bit more than my none subscribers I almost love them, not quite love but better than friends😆
Thanks to the commenters and folk that share these on, they’re intended as light hearted entertainment, some are absolute crackers some a bit more serious. I love the model railways, I love filming them going about their business and I love chatting about them. No one in my house is interested in listening to me chat about them, hence I chat to you guys. Feel free to ask any questions.
The intention of this channel is to come at a different angle from the usual and do my own thing which may or may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
It gets me some peace up here in the loft though so I’ll keep it going. I only have a small fleet as they’re all the new sound fitted models and it’s a new hobby so don’t expect a different loco in each video. Hope you like this one, cheers! Dave

I absolutely love the nonsense and will miss you over the summer, but, you definitely should take some family time. And I have a plan to cope with you taking a break- I’m just going to go back through all the OODave channel from episode 1! Sorted. Here, just noticed, is that naked woman still hanging around on the platform or did my eyes deceive me? Anyway, thanks for all the entertainment in Season 1, have a good Summer and I look forward to your return. I can also spend a bit of time trying to get my own layout off the drawing board. Cheers.

Cheers Darrell - yeah it’s better than a kick in the teeth isn’t it 150 notes. 60 videos at probably at least 200 hours of my time - one days overtime would have covered that but then we wouldn’t have had a good laugh would we 😁 I’ll stick some of your vids on now I’ve got some time. @@dinmorejunctionmodelrailway I found another decent looking 47 interior shot but haven’t got around to doing that one. Once you get a shot at track level I placed the photo of the van over the top of the video footage, and then cutout the widows in the software showing the video behind if that makes sense? 👍 cheers Steve 👍

By the way, you mentioned you were wondering which is the front end of a '66. I had the same question only a couple of days ago, and found the answer.. Normally on a diesel, by convention it seems, the end where all the radiators are is the 'A' cab. But the '66 is the other way round - the A cab is at the end where the exhaust is, and the larger cab (door further back). And if you look very very closely under the windscreen, there are tiny signs saying A and B!

@@doubleodave mine was running the wrong way round too. You change the value of the low order bit in cv29 ("1" value) to swap forward and reverse in any standard decoder. I read the contents of cv29, added 1 and wrote it back.

Thanks Fred, yeah I don’t know why nobody has ever really talked about it - strange really, I would have found it interesting to know. To be brutally honest I don’t know another person that has a model railway, I keep trying to persuade a couple of friends to get into it but they’re slow timing - even after steady pressure! 😁 - it would be a great way of making more videos - even some steam engines and the like. I’d happily demo used stock items for local shops but wouldn’t really know where to start. Could be a good way of advertising some used stock. See you in season 2 👍

Thanks for explaining how to earn a few Bob off KZfaq, never really understood the whole process & like you I never set up a channel to make money from it. Nice that you’ve earned a few quid to nearly buy a loco! I think I’ve just broke the 1000 sub mark, nearly time to sit back and watch the dollar roll in🤣 I’m sure things will be fine when to leave the layout for a couple of months, Colwich is in the loft & it gets baking hot up there🥵 just as well I don’t get enough spare time to do any work on it! I’ll keep my eye on things round here just incase ladderman turns up snooping, I’m still hoping for one of those Dylington custard trains to pass through here & perhaps there might be a derailment or something like that so I can lift a tanker or two! Perhaps you could try a bit of that mind control stuff out and see if it happens… Enjoy the summer John b🤪

That was really interesting. Glad that you spoke about the subject that so many seem to avoid. I loved when you started to say "started it to show off" then there was a small pause before you continued about your work mates. I think many of us do start a channel to show off. At least you can be immensely proud of your acheivements. Look after your family and they will look after you. Have a good break Dave.

Good for you priorities are important and family come first oh and your families health. Ah that is two things that come first oh well. As for 1k subs and 4k hours it is difficult for some but not impossible. But the return is as you say minuscule. I have another channel that has been monazited for 4 years and I have earnt bugger all. Hence my next video will be about difficulties of building a layout whilst having a YT channel. But you have to be in it to win it as they say so well done on your first few quid and here's to more in the future.

Cheers Choby, the channel gets me chatting with people about the hobby where no one at home is interested, plus people have given me some good ideas, if doing a few videos then gets me a few bits for my efforts then it’s a bonus, it’s never gonna make mega money as I simply don’t have the knowledge to push out to the masses, I couldn’t really be bothered with that. I can chat nonsense and silliness almost effortlessly though 😄 so it’s easy money 😆😆👍

Family times decent mate and wouldn’t wanna be stuck up in a red hot loft either 😂 Only thing to watch is when I took a full on break from modelling last year I ended up buying more locos in a couple of months than I did in the year before 😂😂😂

NONE whatever reduced the adds to viewers is all I care about and make it clear at the start of all vids you don’t need to do any of that nonsense. But tell me since you hit the 1k mark did anything change ie the desire to ensure there was content out as regularly? Its something I plan on doing a vid on later regarding the YT secret society and how some members loose that down to earth approach and sit high and hoity-toity and become UNTOUCHABLE. On the flip side less Albert Einstein more Mr Bean Rate My Takeaway. Enjoy the Kit-Kat

To be fair, once regular people started getting involved with the comments that’s more what spurred me on to do more vids, in total I did 60 videos in 6 months full speed ahead which is how I go about stuff fully all in. I did a video every 4 days as it worked out that way with my work shift pattern. KZfaq’s been full of adverts now for years so it doesn’t bother me any more you’re always going to get them unless you go premium. I don’t take anything in life serious enough so this channel was never going to get all Hoity-Toity - not unless Bachmann sponsor me and send me weekly van loads of stock then I’ll go fully two faced and be the captain of toity 🤣🤣🤣👍
